The Old Farmhouse — Restaurant in London

Visted here last week for an early dinner before a show and was charged twice. I was told first transaction was declined, so I tried to pay again twice with the same card which led to my bank blocking my card. I then paid with a different card which showed as approved on their system, this led to me being charged twice as the first payment had actually gone through.

Walked back from the gig to show them proof that two transactions were approved. Waitress issued a refund for one of the payments but I still haven’t received a refund and am out of pocket. No offer of a drink or would we like to sit down while they work out their mistake, I had made a point of saying we have just left the pub before the gig to come sort this out. To make matters more frustrating the restaurant emailed me while I was still out trying to enjoy my evening requesting payment again because owner wasn’t convinced both payments had gone through, despite the fact I had stood there on a evening out emailing them the proof from online banking/Apple wallet that two payments had been approved. No email response back from them after emailing to say I still haven’t received my refund. Absolutely awful experience from somewhere this pricey. I loved my stay here, the pub/rooms are literally 2 minutes walk from Kentish Town station and about 6 minutes from the O2 forum- there’s also lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were absolutely lovely from the moment I set foot in the premises- polite, caring and interested in my wellbeing. The room was lovely with massive windows, a high ceiling, cute decor, many complimentary snacks, tea and a coffee machine and also 2 bottles bottles of water (in the room’s mini fridge!) everything was spotlessly clean too. The bathroom/shower was gorgeous with complimentary toiletries of all varieties and lush shower gels/hand washes. There were also complimentary slippers and a reusable bag! The room had the most incredible (self controlled) air conditioning too which I needed on a 27c day and after a packed out gig at the Forum! I didn’t have time to eat there so I do hope to come back and sample the delicious sounding menu at some point. 🍺looks like an ordinary pub, but once you step inside, a refreshing countryside charm greets you. It feels warm, cosy, and relaxing, just like a little farmhouse escape in the middle of Kentish Town.

🍽️ Lunch deal We went for their lunch promotion, which includes one main dish (from three options) with a choice of beer, house wine, or soft drink. It’s a good deal.

🍝 Pasta The freshly made pasta was delicious and full of flavour. You can really taste that it’s made from scratch.

🍔 Chicken burger The chicken burger was juicy and succulent, with a nice touch of sweetness from the brioche bun that makes it even more enjoyable.

🍰 Tiramisu We also tried the tiramisu. The flavour was good, but the texture was a bit firm. It would be even better if it were softer and creamier, more like the classic tiramisu style.
