🚇 Mansion House 🍺 £6.70 Cruzcampo

Located on atmospheric Watling Street in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral you’ll find The Pavilion End pub. The nearest Tube is Mansion House.

This pub is situated in a former Shoe Factory that was built in the mid nineteenth century. In 2018, the pub was extensively refurbished and reopened by former England Cricket Captain, Mike Gatting OBE.

This is a two bar pub that has a contemporary look with some nice traditional touches. The spacious main bar is located on the ground floor and has a centrally located tiled servery. There is a mix of seating consisting of cosy booths, poser tables and a banquette under the window. Just off the main bar is a dining area which has a classy feel. If you head downstairs, there’s another bar which has an intimate traditional ambiance. At the rear of the pub is an enclosed courtyard beer garden.

This Fullers pub has a good choice of beers that includes four cask ales for the cultured imbiber. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint hit the spot, price point reflected the City location. The food menu offers a range of bar snacks and sarnies for those on the go, plus a classic pub grub menu, Fish & Chips costs £18.

The pub opens at 10am, so I decided to pay an early visit as part of a crawl around this part of the City. I was first one in the door and was met by the Guv’nor and a team member who were both welcoming and friendly. I had a lovely chat with the Guv’nor who has been in the pub game for many years. Not long after I arrived, some tourists visited followed by some city workers who were working the early shift.

This pub loves its sport and shows all live sport on Sky, TNT on the many large screens dotted around the pub. Also, the upcoming Cheltenham Festival will be shown each day.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my maiden innings here at The @pavillionendpub . The atmospheric location, the splendid old building, the comfortable surroundings, great beer choice and personable service made for a top notch city pub experience.

Really good pub, my first time there and I'll definitely go back. Location is great as central for City workers and near several good tube stops. It's a Fullers so the mainstay beers are decent, but also a good selection of guest ales including Gamma Ray and Tribute, both of which are favourites of mine.

Inside it's a good mix of traditional and contemporary, comfortable with plenty of seating. They have big screens so a good place to watch sport, but not obtrusive so it isn't a 'sports bar' as you'd imagine it. The outside space is smallish but well appointed and looked after, good to get out in the fresh air.

Service was as good as could be expected given the Lionesses were playing and the place was heaving. Ideally they'd have had one more staff member on to cope better and reduce the bar queue, but the wait wasn't so bad considering. Despite being rushed off their feet the guys were serving with a smile.

Didn't try the food, but it looked good as it went past, if typically unhealthy as you'd expect from pub grub. The table opposite seemed to love the ribs, burgers and sharing platter they had, made me hungry!

Overall definitely worth a visit. If I worked closer I'd become...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Pavilion End Pub, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed.

The pub itself has a fantastic mix of traditional charm and modern comfort. It's the kind of place that strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, whether you're there for a casual pint or a more lively evening with friends.

To top it all off, the location is ideal – it’s just far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel like a peaceful escape, but close enough to all the action to be convenient for a quick drop-in.

Highly recommend The Pavilion End Pub to anyone looking for a great time with great drinks and company. I’ll definitely be...

A large, modern sports themed pub with plenty of seating and lots of screens to watch the action. The service is quick (though it was a quiet day) and the staff are friendly. The pub seems to have been renovated relatively recently since everything is clean and new, including the toilets. I went in on a Saturday to watch cricket and they were showing all sorts- F1, rugby, county cricket, international cricket, and league two football. They also have charging points which are very helpful! And a beer garden!

Argyle on tour. We are back in London looking for our first Friday pm pint! And this was our first stop. Smart pub...so much room including a huge area downstairs. Good service, nice beer but too much noise....and too many screens! Aswell as watching cricket or horse racing they also have music playing!! All to much. Had to go....giving us a headache.
