Popped in for a quick drink at roughly 10:30pm. Service was quite transactional, nothing wrong but nothing special or welcoming. Took a seat and a European football match was playing with a number of people watching and music playing. Didn't affect me personally, as my group were only having 1 drink and leaving but the whole closedown procedure and atmosphere during our visit was odd. Website and google maps advertise the site as opening until 11:30pm. No bell was rang and I saw the shift leader closing the tills at 10:45pm and turns the music off. Then at 11pm, the team go round and turn all the TVs off with 5 mins left of the match. Why not let them watch the last 5 mins of a match especially when it's not even outside of drinking up time and you've closed early? It just felt so bizarre as, when I ran sports venues, we'd stay open longer if something had gone into overtime, never mind closing early, before a match has even finished on time and turning screens off before you even need to leave the site. Really felt like the shift leader couldn't be bothered and wanted to go home asap Then menu looked exciting and varied so would return to try out the food but never to watch sport or for...

The Victoria Taps is a classic pub with a modern twist, offering sports, music, and a decent selection of drinks. Here's what I found during my visit:
Lively atmosphere: The pub buzzes with activity, whether it's sports fans cheering on their teams or friends enjoying the music. It's a great spot for a social gathering. Drinks galore: They have a wide range of beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails, catering to diverse tastes. Free on-street parking on weekends: Parking can be a nightmare in town, so the free weekend option is a bonus.
Toilet could be cleaner.
The weekend supervisor is a little rude. When asking replacement of one of Free drink, only told that we had to go to a different pub if their as they don’t do that...
Read moreFirst of all, when I looked out our hotel window and saw a pub across the street, despite it being a beautiful building I was a bit concerned about the possible night noise. It never happened and I thank the management and all the patrons for being respectful of the neighbourhood. Looking for a Sunday Roast, which sadly they did not have (....but they recommended another great pub which did for our next Sunday dinner) we stayed anyway. Glad we did !!! A very popular and busy establishment we were seated and served fairly quickly. Looking next to us we were quite pleased to see that the pub is DOG FRIENDLY!!!!! That sealed the deal!!!! Beer and the assortment platter was very generous and filling as was the delicious nacho platter we had latter in the week. One of the nicest pubs we were in during our nine days in London and a great memory. Thanks to all at...
