I'm a bit puzzled by the exceedingly positive reviews. Though the place is nice enough generally and the service is friendly, the food was quite underwhelming.
I ordered a vegetarian dish and salad and both were quite bland. The muttar paneer curry was okay but no more - it was spicy as in hot (by non-Indian standards), but it was not spicy as in spices adding real depth of flavour. It mostly just tasted of tomato sauce, with no comforting creaminess. I've had better in unassuming local joints in Germany and Canada, and was frankly expecting more from a London restaurant. The salad was pretty much the ingredients listed on the menu - cucumbers, tomatoes and onions, diced, but absolutely nothing more. Not a shred of seasoning in sight, no herbs, and not even the slightest drizzle of oil or pinch of salt (nothing on the table to adjust to taste, either). I think there was supposed to be lime juice in the salad, but I honestly couldn't taste it. The rice I had on the side was okay, but nothing special. Perhaps less attention is given to non-meat options, but even if that is the explanation, it is still quite surprising and disappointing in an Indian restaurant.
In short, it was a nice enough meal, but disappointing for the price. Another minor disappointment: even if you are staying at the adjoining hotel, who seems to have the same ownership, there is no direct access from one to the other: you have to go back outside in the cold. None of this is the staff's fault however, and they...

Well located just off Vincent Square this charming and wonderful restaurant is a true gem.
Nice decor inside, warm and friendly staff are ready to assist with queries from guests.
The only struggle you will have is deciding on what amazing dishes you want to try! It is all delicious. Either select the delightful tiffin tree boxes or go full a la carte, one thing is certain is that you will not go wrong and will enjoy every bite of the feast that is offered.
I attended as part of a business dinner and we shared Tandori Salmon, Butter Chicken, Vegetable Pakoras, Lamb Curry, Rice, Dal Makhani, Naan.......possibly more as the table was a massive feast for the eyes! ALL the food was delicious. Well prepared, well cooked, and very moorish. The Tandori Salmon was a particular highlight.
We were tempted by the desserts but were simply too full to continue but I fully intend to return and leave some space as the desserts on offer sound delicious.
The wine selection is good and they have a great cocktail list. I finished off the evening with an excellent Old Fashioned, which capped off a perfect finale to this evening.
The restaurant was busy and had a great buzzy vibe as patrons enjoyed their feast. The service is attentive and unhurried, which means you have time to fully enjoy your food.
Without doubt one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited in London. Well done to the team there and I wish them every success.....see...
Read moreTucked away in a cozy corner of London, Tiffin Tree is a true hidden gem for lovers of authentic Indian cuisine. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that strikes the perfect balance between traditional charm and modern comfort.
I ordered the Pakora, Chicken Biryani, and Gulab Jamun—a classic combination that delivered on every front. The pakoras were perfectly crisp, spiced just right, and served fresh. The chicken biryani was rich in flavor, with tender chicken and beautifully fragrant rice that clearly reflected the chef’s attention to detail.
But the real star of the meal? The Gulab Jamun. Soft, warm, and soaked in a delicately balanced syrup, it was nothing short of heavenly. A perfect end to a delightful meal.
To top it all off, the service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and efficient. And the best part? The quality of food and service comes at a price that feels more than fair.
If you’re in London and craving a high-quality Indian meal in a relaxing setting, Tiffin Tree is a must-visit. I’ll definitely...
