Last weekend, I had the pleasure of celebrating a dear friend’s birthday at Antalya Restaurant, and I must say—it was nothing short of magical. Nestled on the edge of Bloomsbury, this charming Turkish-Mediterranean spot welcomed us with warm hospitality and an atmosphere that felt both inviting and vibrant.
From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone for the evening. The interiors blended rustic charm with touches of elegance—mosaic lamps cast soft, golden hues, and traditional Turkish art adorned the walls, offering a sense of cultural richness without overwhelming the space.
As a group, we were catered to with grace and attentiveness. The staff seemed genuinely delighted to be part of our celebration. They didn’t just serve us; they hosted us. And when the birthday cake came out—accompanied by sparklers and a joyful chorus—the whole restaurant seemed to join in the celebration, making it feel even more special.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Wow. Every dish was a testament to bold flavors and thoughtful preparation. The mixed meze platter was the perfect start—silky hummus, smoky aubergine dip, and perfectly spiced sucuk, all scooped up with warm, pillowy bread. For mains, the lamb shish was tender, juicy, and beautifully chargrilled, while the vegetarian moussaka was hearty and bursting with flavor. Even the rice had its moment—fragrant, buttery, and moreish.
Desserts were no afterthought either. The baklava was crisp yet syrupy, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that melted just slowly enough to be indulgent. It was the perfect end to a flawless meal.
As we lingered over Turkish tea and exchanged stories, it became clear that Antalya isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. One that brings people together through food, culture, and genuine hospitality. If you’re looking for a place in London to mark a special occasion—or simply want a meal that feels like a warm embrace—Antalya is where you need to be.
We left full, happy, and with memories we’ll treasure. A birthday...

As for the service, First of all, we had our Dinner(Ramadan Iftar) at Antalya on a weekend, so I understand how busy everybody was and how stressful it can get,but few things happened which made me question the quality of the service there: 1-We were indirectly forced to leave so that the place can accommodate another party as big as ours, may be we overstayed our welcome a bit. 2-We had some leftover pizza from the lunch of the kids after a long day wondering around London, one of the kids wanted a slice before the food was prepared,we offered him one ,but the one of the staff showed up asking us to take it away as it is not permissible to have food from outside the place ,I understand that rules are rules and I respect that, but one could argue that they might’ve let this one slide as we’ve had ordered lots of food already. 3-This one was the most irritating to me. I had a cup of Turkish coffee after food, it was cold and simply bad, had couple of sips from it to give it another chance before sending it back- as I rarely send anything back- but it was really not even drinkable. I asked for the waitress’s help in that, when she showed up first thing she said that we should’ve tried it immediately after it was served-which I did- before it gets cold, and then she argues about how many sips I took from my cup before finally accepting to take it back! So my question to management here, is it really worthy arguing over a 3-pound cup of coffee in a 400+ cheque? Had some good service moments too,but the overall experience was less than optimal and a bit...
