In response to the owner: All I was trying to say is that the green tea tasted much thinner. That was the fact. I don't care how you adjust your recipe, cause... How would I know? But it does tasted much more milky and sugary, and less matcha flavour. Or maybe your staff just accidentally put in less of the matcha powder for that batch? I don't know, and that's for you to figure out.
Try to go through the photos people took, from the timeline to tell the colour difference. I guess you just probably have quality inconsistencies. We were just lucky before I guess. Had to delete my 5 star review and give a 2 now. Me and my husband go there a lot for years, but this year they seemed to adjust their recipe to their matcha ice cream, the taste is very disappointed now. They reduced the amount of matcha and put more milk and sugar inside. IT TASTED LIKE ICE CREAM YOU CAN GET FROM ANY OF THE SUPERMARKETS... Also you can just tell from the photos that people took, the green colour definitely looks lighter recently. I thought Japanese insist high qualities, I would rather you raise the price instead. Also one of our sundae was so melted when we got it, it's like soup and dripping over the edges...The quality is going down. Definitely not worth...
Read moreTsujiri Chinatown presents itself as a distinctive culinary destination that specialises in authentic matcha-based beverages and desserts. The quality of the products is noteworthy, with the drinks offering a balanced richness and the desserts showcasing a refined taste that highlights the versatility of matcha. This emphasis on flavour authenticity contributes to a memorable gastronomic experience, particularly for individuals with an appreciation for Japanese tea culture.
The location proves highly convenient, situated within the vibrant Chinatown district where foot traffic and transport links enhance its appeal. This ease of access strengthens its suitability as both a casual stop for refreshment and a social gathering point.
However, a critical consideration relates to the pricing structure, which is positioned at a slightly higher level than comparable establishments. While the premium reflects the quality and brand reputation, it may influence its accessibility to a wider demographic of consumers.
Overall, Tsujiri Chinatown succeeds in delivering high-quality matcha drinks and desserts within a strategically convenient setting. The slightly elevated cost remains its primary limitation, but this is mitigated by the unique cultural and sensory...
Read moretsujiri has a variety of high quality japanese desserts (matcha, lattes, frappes, soft serves, floats, etc.) with flavors such as matcha, yuzu, and sakura. located in chinatown and has limited upstairs seating. service was okay, not very friendly but efficient. it tasted great--i just wish it wasn't so expensive or i would have come back again! a sundae alone is 8 pounds which is more than $10usd for a relatively small portion, but i appreciated the quality of flavor and assortment of toppings.
// tsujiri sundae // there are a lot of sundaes to choose from which vary in toppings. i got the tsujiri sundae which had matcha soft serve, warabi mochi, crispy brown rice, red bean, and a biscuit on top.
matcha soft serve: very good matcha flavor, i could tell it was high quality. crispy brown rice: a nice addition that adds a crunch, has a roasted flavor which is a nice touch red bean: at the bottom, adds sweetness and nuttiness biscuit: didn't have much flavor, kind of like a soft waffle flavor
i was also eyeing the shiratama sundae because it had mochi and more red bean, but the tsujiri sundae seems to have more matcha soft serve. wish they had hojicha when i came because that's my...
