Came across this place randomly, we ordered the full combo for £35, the worker at the time told us it will be a 20 minute wait, but then 30,45 mins, an hour has passed and we hadn’t received our food, through this we’re checking with the worker and she’s telling us 10 more minutes, and taking on more customers telling them 20 mins waiting time knowing damn well she’s not capable of doing that. There was also other customers waiting just as long for their food.

The food comes out eventually and it’s cold and tasteless, lacking authenticity and along with portion sizes just being joke for £35. We sent the food back and got a refund easily but we were starving. Waiting 20 minutes is fine but an hour just to have not good quality food no thank you. The rice look like it came from the bottom of the pan, the plantin not ripe, the chips not fresh like come on an hour and £35 for this ???

I can appreciate that the worker was on her own and could’ve been overwhelmed with the orders, however do not mislead customers on waiting times just to get business, give us a choice to decide whether we want to wait that long for food, do not take on more than you can handle, it’s now leading to unhappy customers and a bad review. We had been meaning to visit this place for a while, especially as lovers of jerk chicken, but unfortunately it did not meet our expectations at all — we left truly disappointed.

First of all, the jerk chicken was boneless thighs, not on the bone as traditionally served. There was no real spice or kick, and it lacked the bold, smoky, authentic jerk flavour we were expecting. It honestly tasted very bland — far from what you’d expect from a Caribbean-inspired dish.

To make matters worse, the staff overcharged me, and when I questioned it and politely asked for a refund, I was met with rudeness and attitude. The same staff member didn’t even bother to explain that the boneless jerk comes with sides — I had already chosen sides separately, which led to confusion and being charged extra unnecessarily.

As someone who genuinely loves jerk chicken, and having come with friends of Caribbean descent, we were all really let down. It didn’t feel authentic, and the service left a bitter taste.

Twerk and Jerk catered for my birthday party in July. From the very beginning Tyron was a joy to deal with. He was very professional.

The communication was excellent and he offered advice along the way, going above and beyond to make sure I had the best options. When the day came it was torrential rain and they set up in an outside marquee. Even in very difficult operating conditions, the food was excellent and he and Kem kept their spirit up and my guests happy.

People are still commenting about the banter they had and how good the food was. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to use again.
