Talks a good talk, and the ice cream isn't bad, but as others have said completely collapses on services. I went up to order two affogatos for my husband and I, and an ice cream for my son.

As soon as I mentioned the affogatos they asked what they were. The person serving me then wandered off to go and fiddle with the espresso machine. Numerous colleagues were brought over to see if they knew how to use it. They did not. People were brought out from the back. Finally somebody started to grind some beans. But nobody could turn on the actual espresso maker. This continued while a queue built up behind me.

I asked another server if I could finish my order and get my son's ice cream while I waited to see if they could make the affogato. She snapped at me that no, I needed to step aside as I was being served (I bloody wasn't) and she needed to serve the next person in the queue.

Eventually they come clean. They can't give me an affogato as nobody there knows how to make the espresso machine work. I was finally allowed to order some other ice creams. Ice cream was great, but had to eat it in a now rammed shop as the queue had built up so much, with a fractious small child who had waited (as had we all!) A VERY LONG TIME for an ice cream. I don't know why they had affogato on the menu tbh. They acted like they had never heard of it before I asked for it. Absolutely no training for the v young staff, who while useless should have received better guidance from management (who didn't appear to be there).

Edit: This was...

The first thing to say is that the ice-cream is fantastic. We bought two regular scoops in bowls.each, so four scoops in total. Wild Cherry, Mint and Chocolate Chip, Birthday Cakes and Cookies and Cream. All of them were delicious, and all of them would comfortably fit under the category of 'luxury ice-cream'.

Each two scoop bowl was £5.60, which even for the quality of the ice-cream was a bit too much. Even at London prices, I've paid less or similar for three scoops. And when you think about it, who goes to an ice-cream place to only try one flavor? You just don't. That's not what ice-cream places are for!

The interior is nice, but very small. There might technically be seating for a dozen or so people, but it'll feel cramped with even half that many, if you're able to get a seat at all. Seven Dials is lovely and it's in a nice area, but there's no outdoor seating either, so be prepared to eat and walk.

The biggest issue is that there is no wheelchair access and no printed menu. If you're with a wheelchair user, or children in a pushchair, they're just going to have to wait outside while you go in and take a picture of the flavour list, or call the flavours out to them, and those people who are missing out on the whole experience. Outward facing menu's in the windows or printed ones that they can read for themselves is a small thing that could make a...

The best ice cream sundaes in the west end!

I loved this place! I have such a sweet tooth and am an absolute ice cream fiend. I’m always looking for good dessert stops that aren’t just your standard ice cream chains, and this one has everything I was after.

The ice cream was delicious, and gets made there on site. And you can make a sundae with their brownies. I had the sundae with peanut butter ice cream, a dark chocolate brownie (the recommendation from the server, he was right, 10/10 pick), chocolate sauce, and whipped cream, no extra sprinkles or toppings.

Reasons why this was so good: peanut butter ice cream had actual nuts, not my usual preference, I go for smooth peanut butter, but the sweet and crunchy was great together, and the crunch added a bit of texture where the ice cream and brownie were soft. The slight bitterness of the dark chocolate, the saltiness of the ice cream, and the whipped cream contrasted perfectly with the sweetness of the brownie and the chocolate sauce. The brownie was warmed (there’s the option to not have it warm, but this was a no brainer imo), which worked so well with the cold ice cream.

Also, we managed to get seats inside on the swing, which was v cute, and a lovely quaint little spot to enjoy our ice cream.

This is going to be my #1 pre-theatre dessert stop...

It’s always good to cool down with an ice cream right? Udderlicious is one of my favourites. They have a great range of flavours in dairy, vegan and sorbet options. I love trying the unusual and seasonal ones. This visit I had Wild Cherry & Espresso & Chocolate Biscotti. Yummy! The great thing is that you can vote for next month’s flavours on their website! I might just do that so I can return and taste the new flavours (like I need an excuse)
