White Mulberries — Restaurant in London

During lockdown I heard the reputation of their amazing banana bread and immediately visited them after lockdown was over in May 2021. And it was indeed amazing. Visited few more times later and even though banana bread was still very tasty, the service was so bad that I didn’t want to return back. It’s a shame as this place is on my way to work and I would have been buying at least two drinks from them every day… I agree with some other 1&2-star reviews saying staff being very inattentive, being on their phones, talking among themselves instead of serving the customers who are waiting to order or instead of cleaning the dirty tables that pigeons are eating from. They forgot my drinks orders three times in my last two visits. I also tried takeaway coffee few times and it was done poorly with no care. Honestly the only good thing was banana bread. Their social media appearance is so good, I wish they actually cared about real life customer service too. I haven’t visited for almost a year, maybe they took the bad reviews into consideration and either changed their staff or trained them with better customer service values. We've eaten at White Mulberries a few times. It's a great place to meet a friend or go with your partner for breakfast, brunch, lunch or coffee and cake. I loved the food so much that I've written a feature in my blog. We've tried the coffee, smoothie, lemon drizzle cake, banana bread with toppings, avocado on toast, burrata on toast and the vegan Buddha bowl - not all at once though!!! Everything tastes fresh and delicious and looks pretty on the plate. The staff are friendly. The cafe is small inside but they have plenty of tables in the front. I like going to this eatery because you can dine alfresco even when it is raining because of the glass roof over Hay's Galleria. The location is excellent, it's opposite London Bridge station and next to the River Thames. I can highly recommend this...

Not very friendly service initially became rude and dismissive by the end as a result of their own mistakes. Placed my order and paid and watched the server give away my daughter’s smoothie to another member of our wider group who had ordered the same thing.. Server insisted I hadn’t paid for it. I insisted I had. They told me to relax but made no attempt to check their orders. My other daughter’s soup never turned up until everybody else had eaten and I was forced to chase the soup. Then I had to insist they check the order I placed and paid for and they then had to make my younger daughter the smoothie which they had denied I paid for. Stroppy attitude. Poor service.
