This place used to be a Michelin-star restaurant but as of few months ago is now an "Italian restaurant" trading as Indolanka. Most of the photos are from the previous restaurant! The latest reviews following the change are all very negative. It seems more like a takeaway than an actual restaurant, and it is a totally different atmosphere to the restaurant that once stood in its place.
The staff are polite and trying their best, don’t get me wrong, but the food, concept and venue is terrible, I’m sorry. First of all, the logo and interior is not thought out well. The design does not make sense and the music inside the venue does not suit the environment which is trying to be classy but instead comes off as cheap and random. It seems like this place popped up without much consideration for what suits this area and it is empty 90% of the time. This is sad for such a prime location.
Secondly, the food is terrible! I tried a pizza here months ago which was very average at best. The carbonara I bought yesterday was really really bad, though. The pasta was over-cooked and overly soft, it was such bad quality. The sauce tasted like a store bought jar, way too much and I threw away most of it. This is not Italian cooking at all!? It is like poor university student cooking.
As a European seeking real European flavour, this restaurant is truly bad. The venue is also completely tacky. Avoid...
Read moreThe restaurant is called Restaurant 27 and ill give you 27 reasons why not to go to this restaurant.
we was not asked if anyone has allergies even though there was 2 people with allergies. the staff did not know what we was asking for. looked like the staff didn't even want to be there or serve us. they got the order wrong and had to remake it. took very long with bringing out the last dish while everyone was finish. 6.once started eating realized its was overcooked(pasta) no seasoning at all on any food. 8.made several people throw up inside the restaurant and outside. bad music. toilets stunk badly. couldn't even finish the meal. 12-27. told the man that we wasn't happy with the food are willing to pay for the drinks and not the food as it made a person sick they were saying no and then another 2 people threw up and still they wanted us to pay the whole bill even though we had 3 out of 8 people throw up from our group and had about another 2 people feel sick. After waiting about 30 minutes to see what the manager/boss was thinking they got us to pay for the drinks. Overall, not a happy experience would not suggest it at all. When we brought up health and safety they did not even know what that was. and how someone throwing up is not a health hazard...
Read moreAvoid this place at all costs! ⚠️So to start it comes across as a nice italian restaurant when it’s actually like a posh mcdonald’s, they don’t ask if you have dietary requirements even tho one of us did, the service was shocking no drinks for over half an hour when the place was dead, the pasta was appalling carbonara had no flavour and tasted awful, sent it back to get a different pasta and the excuse was it’s only made with eggs, no apology for the disgusting pasta they were very reluctant to give us a different dish, so they know they are selling poor quality food and think we should put up with it, the prawn pasta gave us both food poisoning and the spaghetti was solid and glued together, the waiters are dressed like subway workers so if you want a nice restaurant where they have atleast a blouse/shirt on you’ll be disappointed, the waiters have no idea what to say when they come over to the table they just stand and stare at you, one waiter smelt so bad of beo and it’s really not appropriate in a place where people are eating it’s lucky we don’t have weak stomachs (the food definitely made it weak tho) the atmosphere is overall not very nice in there, food is poisonous and service is...
