Thailand Cafe and Takeaway — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Tried this place for the first time today, we went in and it was very busy so we weren’t sure if we’d get a table. They said they had a table in the garden so we said ok let’s try, it was beautiful, they led us through flowers and plants into a marquee out the back which was all enclosed with heaters. Really nice vibe, although it would have been even nicer with a little bit of soft, quiet music playing.

The food was so good. We had the squid to share which was delicious, little bit rubbery but the batter was so light and crispy. I then had the Duck Curry with coconut rice which was so good. The duck was crispy but still tender and juicy, the sauce was lovely and creamy but not too heavy. And the perfect amount of spice. My partner had a Duck stir fry dish with cashews, pineapple and peppers with plain rice and really enjoyed it as well.

It was bring your own drinks so lots of people were doing that but we just had water. The staff were really friendly and super attentive. We will definitely be...

Never judge a book....this place was recommended to us by someone. It's not the sort of place we'd go to normally as we normally go to large restaurants in popular places. However, having eaten here I'll be changing where I choose to eat in the future as this is a gem of a find. The food is authentic, tasty and great value. The Service was friendly and good. The restaurant is quite small so may be worth booking beforehand, they managed to squeeze us in even though we had not booked. A couple of things to note, they don't serve alcohol, but they allow you to bring your own (handily there is an Sainsbury local next door to this restaurant and a Tesco express across the road to purchase your drinks from). Also, they only accept cash but again the shops I mentioned above have cash machines. Can't wait to go back to this place it...

Disappointing food and service.

Pahthai had no table service last night so we went to this instead, saw this was rated at 4.6 thought it would be good..but it was a big disappointment.

We ordered Penang and Massaman then two portions of coconut rice.

Both curry were very watery, Penang taste just ok, but Massaman tasted nothing like Massaman, not that it tasted bad, but it just doesn't tasted like what it was supposed to be.

The worst part is the coconut rice, it was definitely not it, basically like plain rice, we even asked the waitress to confirm were those indeed coconut rice we were having there, and we only got a very quick yes then she turned away already..

Overall those were some very disappointing food and service, that surely would be our first and...
