My yaki soba noodles were conglomerate, welded together and folded in with fried scrapings from the bottom of the wok, the shrimp were minuscule and bland, the whole dish was bland, with hardly any veg to break apart the greasy stodge. I was too tired and hungry to complain, especially as service to this point had been ropey on a busy, hot Friday after work, and I wasn't waiting again while they tried to get it right. The worse Wagamama dish I've ever had though acth. Then they brought me someone else's bill, that I obliviously paid and then thought hang on a minute. That was another a**eache to sort out, and then they didn't refund the extra tip (that I'd paid because I'm stupid) but now wanted refunding too because by now it was all too rubbish (yeah and the fresh juice was watery and inspid - oh hang on maybe it didn't claim to be fresh). And then they couldn't refund the tip to my card so gave me change in cash. All in all a stodgy, incompetent palaver. Nice view though <eye roll emoji>.

The food was splendid as usual, in particular the mains. But we were left slightly disappointed with the 'Chilli Squid' (starters) - they tasted far too dry and almost as if they'd been refried...? Service started off excellent, the waitress who served us (Yasmin) was lovely and attentive. Sadly, once the meal was complete, we were served by someone else and it was as almost as if they didn't care any longer i.e. the caring nature and happiness disappeared, it was lacking from the waiter (we were now being looked after by a chap) There wasn't even a "Thank you, take care, etc." - it's the small things that count and also differentiate you from being classified as a restaurant vs. another "fast food chain". All in all, a good experience (minus the latter), views out to sea were poor since it was a dark day and atmosphere in general was up beat.

Wagamama has always been a go-to for me, and the Portsmouth Gunwharf location has never disappointed. However, my recent visit left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. While the service was as impeccable as ever, the portion sizes seemed to have shrunk. The squid dish, which I've always loved, felt noticeably lacking in quantity. It was a bit disappointing to see such a beloved item diminished. On the bright side, the tea was absolutely fantastic. It was the perfect complement to the meal and helped to elevate the overall experience. If you're looking for a reliable and enjoyable dining experience in Portsmouth, Wagamama is still a solid choice. Just be prepared for potential variations in portion sizes.

Myself, husband and 1 year old went to Wagamamas in Portsmouth yesterday 29th May 2022. When we got to the restaurant it was busy but only 2 people ahead. When it was our turn to be seated after waiting 15 minutes we was told they are not seating anyone at the moment as they want to keep up with kitchen and then seat customers. After 10 minutes of waiting on top of my 15 minutes we was told that we have to wait as they have no seats for purchase and people that came after us will be seated first. I felt this firstly was discriminatory towards us cause we had a pushchair and customers that came after us didn’t. So they went ahead and seated the customer. 5 minutes later the lady came back and took another couple that came after us. At this point we’re not being asked or even spoken to, I then looked where that couple was seated and they were placed on the edge of the table which we could have really got. I then asked that lady why were having to wait and why we couldn’t take that seat as it was on the edge. She explained it was on the walk way and the only seats we could have are the ones near the window side which are made for pushchairs. I explained how it’s rude to not explain that to us and unfair just cause we have a pushchair we now have to wait for those seats and the people sitting at those seats have not even been given food yet. She said she can’t say how long it will be but we will have to wait and others will go ahead of us, at this point a very rude staff member (seemed Eastern European but as I didn’t take his name that’s all I can deceive him as.) he started explaining the situation but he didn’t seem apologetic or understanding to me and the situation. He ended the conversation and might I add I am a British Pakistani woman, he ended the conversation with ‘IF YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT HAPPY BY WAITING THEN YIU CAN LEAVE’. I was extremely taken back by this and asked him if he thought that’s great customer service and what he meant by ‘You people’. He didn’t answer my questions regarding ‘you people’ but he repeated it by saying ‘If you are not happy in waiting then you can leave’.

Me & my husband come to Wagamama quite often and we’ve never been treated like this before. I really upset and taken back by what happened at your restaurant and I don’t personally feel like going back as I don’t feel ‘us people are welcome at this place.

I’m really upset by this service and want to bring this to the attention of someone senior as...

Met a friend here for lunch, been to Wagamama's before so I know the deal with how food arrives etc.

We sit down, just the two of us and order as normal. Friend's food comes out but mine does not, nothing unusual. Once my friend was half way through their meal, I chased mine as still had not arrived. 2 minutes I was told.

My friend finished her meal before mine had even left the kitchen, a good 20 minutes or so. On top of this a table next to us had been seated, ordered and were all eating, obviously my meal had been lost, forgotten or something else. I asked another server to cancel my meal, and then within a minute it arrived at the table.

Moment was gone and we needed to get on so I told them to take it away, the server was insistent on giving me my meal until a (I assume) manager stepped in and said to take it away. Tried to tell me that the kitchen is busy at different times and this is why food comes out at different times - I get this, but not 20 minutes difference.

I told them it was a human error and they should hold their hands up and acknowledge this, which this individual would not and insisted this is how they operate. No offer of apology or conversation on how to resolve, but did take my meal off the bill (the meal I cancelled).

Customer services needs further training on resolution, whilst the kitchen need better alignment on getting food out (at least) at...

We were meeting family in Portsmouth and my daughter suggested we eat at Wagamama. I'm sure I've eaten at another outlet some time ago and didn't have bad memories. This was not a good experience. We set up two different accounts so each family could pay separately. We ordered drinks for all 10 of us and the 4 children ordered their meals, because you have to. I am one of those unusual people who doesn't like chili, the smallest amount leaves me with a numb mouth unable to taste anything else. I had read all the adult meals and every one of them mentioned chili, I focused on what I hoped was the mildest. It was a curry, but it said it was coconut based with a hint (my words) of chili. After a couple of mouthfuls I knew I wouldn't be able to finish the meal, it was far too hot for me. If you like chilli heat then I am sure there will be plenty of meals that you will like, but for those of us who struggle with that type of food there was nothing on the menu that we could eat. It didn't help that the drinks and children's meals for our family didn't arrive and we had to chase them a number of times and then when we ordered the ice cream that went with the children's meals one of them didn't arrive and we had to...
