It was our time at Amalfi in Glasgow. We found it by chance due to our first choice Italian restaurant being booked out. We ordered entree and main course. The food was average and the only thing that was Italian authentic is the name. The bruschetta tasted like it was microwaved not grill toasted as the bread was soggy. The crumbed mushrooms were ok. The special of the day was a risotto but the rice was not properly cooked. The penne arrabiata, well the pasta was overcooked and not al dente while the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. Service was quick and the restaurant was packed on the night. Try it if you want a quick ok meal, but there are other authentic Italian eateries to try

Good recommendation from hotel Doesn't look much from outside but has alot of history attached. Stars from the past appearing in music Hall or theatres would use amalfi to eat at. Pictures adorn walls and brief history . It is small inside and more akin to a cafe but service knowledgeable..friendly..and interested in us turning up at 21.30!! Extensive menu..all freshly cooked..reasonably priced. Mussels as starter excellant. Stroganoff Good to as main. Quirky...menu had various dine early options or two or three course options. Predominantly Italian. Not fine dining but good wholesome home cooked food.

Saturday the 2nd of October. There were four of us in our group. One of the group was celebrating her birthday. Therefore, as a surprise, I bought some fun birthday cakes and left them at the restaurant prior to us going there. The reception that I got was excellent. This was to be surpassed by the welcome that we received from all of the staff when we arrived for our meal. The staff that were on duty that evening were: Dee, Adam, Rami, Jerick, Rafia and Djaffar. What a team! They couldn't do enough for us. Very attentive and friendly throughout. The menu selection had everything that you would expect. However, as we are all aware, would the food be up to scratch? We were not to be disappointed. Four different meals, all cooked to perfection. Each tasted as good as you'll get anywhere. The value for money was very good to say the least. As arranged, the birthday cakes were delivered by three of the team who encouraged everyone to join in the rendition of Happy Birthday. All patrons joined in the little bit of fun. The restaurant itself is cosy and full of memorabilia. All in all, this was an excellent night out that was made all the better because of the attention to detail and friendliness of the staff and the excellence of the food. Thanks very much to all The Amalfi...

Go to the Amalfi on the regular with all the family, and it is the families goto. Today I went with my daughter and partner and ordered 3 courses, I was alittle bewildered at the customer service, I could feel something wasn't right, as I'm registered severely sight impaired. When I was choosing from the menu I was judged. We choose mozzarella cheese cubes (these were clearly bought in and the tomato sauce was tinned heinz tomato), sirloin steak (medium rare very over oiled) and for desert chocolate cake.

My daughter asked for an apple juice, I bit my tongue when the man had quite aggressively slide the bottle the width of the table. I used long white cane due to my blindness, the male server had moved my cane off the table out of reach without telling anyone us.

It was only till afterwards my parter said that he was vaping and eating chewing tabbaco at our table when we were...

Liked the decor and ambience. Service from both the girls working the floor was good and efficient. The food was nice but could have done with more seasoning. My bruschetta pomodoro was nice in that the contrasts of the toasted bread and cold tomato salsa were just right but needed seasoning. The lasagne came to the table too hot to eat, it was literally boiling hot on the plate. If I had tried that then I would have seriously burnt my mouth. The bechamel sauce was only splashed on top and not through the layers at all. The sauce around the lasagne was so soupy that I had to ask for a spoon to eat it. My husband had the breaded mushrooms (4 large ones) with salad and mayo dip, he felt that the dip had no flavour at all. The penne arribiata looked nice and my husband said that it tasted nice too. With 2 diet cokes and a basket of bread the whole thing came to £28 so it was a...
