We ended up here by chance after previous dinner plans fell through. Super easy to get to as within only a few minutes walking distance from Charring Cross, and across the road from The King's Theatre. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were seated quickly (we didn't have a booking although we were early enough to skip the rush that came later as we were leaving, I'd definitely suggest booking!). The food was delicious. Lots of choice on the menu, and the Minestrone Soup was beautiful. If I was asked to critique something, and this is really just being pernickety and didn't pose much of an issue - the tables are a little bit of a squeeze for space if you're having a pizza. But that's being really nitpicky, as otherwise the booth was comfortable and even busy, the place didn't feel cramped.

This is a charming wee Italian restaurant downstairs. It was packed when we arrived and packed when we left. They are the masters of the quick turnaround if you are having a pre theatre meal. We had minestrone to start with, the bread was divine. Then we had spaghetti carbonara and tagliatelle bolognese. Both very tasty. Affogato and tiramisu for puds which were also delicious. The decor of the place was delightful as well. Staff were extremely efficient and friendly. It is pretty snug tho, tables are pretty close together but I wouldn't let that put you off. Literally across the road from the King's Theatre, so ideal for pre or post theatre dinner. Very reasonably priced as well.

a little disappointed. got in, our table was very small and wobbly but starters came quickly and tasted lovely. we were moved to a different table as a big party was coming in but didn’t mind as our new table was lovely and a lot more comfortable. mains arrived, found a hair in my pasta but manager was very kind, brought me a new pasta, gave us two chips on the house. he continued to offer us deserts and drinks on the house, which we declined as we already received compensation. we got a drink and an absolutely gorgeous tiramisu on the house after paying our cheque. the manager was honestly so kind and felt bad that something was wrong with my food, i appreciated it.

Shocking service, seating and food

Upon arrival we were seated at a table for 4, there was 5 of us which meant one of our kids were hanging off the side of the table.

Rude staff commenting on our autistic child watching his IPAD claiming 'it wouldn't be him allowing it'. Our child was sat quiet eating his dinner watching his Ipad while a table next to us was full of adults loud, drunk and shouting.

Had requested spaghetti with a tiny bit of sauce mixed through for our child, no mince etc. Was re asurred by the girl that would be ok and when she brought it out the pasta was layered with mince, basil etc. When we said politely that he would not eat that the waitress seemed annoyed and gave an attitude even though we had clearly stated that it was only a bit of tomato sauce to be on the pasta and was told this was no problem. They did fix this quickly after however her manner was not ok.

Arrabiata was very very bland, cheese peeled right off the pizza.

When we requested the bill it was £152 which I was very shocked as the standard of this food was not worth anywhere near that.

We decided to still pay a tip. We halved the bill £80 each. My friend paid her half and as I went to pay for mine my friend realised the total was scored out. When she queried this the waitress advised us they add a 10% service charge for tables of 5. Bearing in mind the standard of the food, it was 3 children, one of which was hanging off the end of the table and the attitude from the staff, no way were we paying a 10% service charge plus a extra tip on top.

We requested the tip to be taken off the second half therefore we only paid the £152 including the service charge. Once we paid 3 members of staff stood right beside our table speaking rudely about us asking about the service charge and requesting the tip was removed as we were stood right beside them looking at them as they continued to do so.

The standard of this place is...

Really disappointed in this restaurant. First time trying here with friends and the service started off ok but then went down hill. There was no table checks done once we were given our first drink, sar for ages and had to keep trying to grab someone's attention. Food was nice but desserts pricey for what it was. The main reason we won't be back was because we felt the older woman who seemed to be in charge was quite rude to us. She came over and put the cheque on the table and said you will all need to go your tables booked out but slapped a £22 service charge on the bill. There's ways and means of asking for the table back as we understood there were people waiting it would have been no issues. My friends felt slightly Embarrassed by her behaviour so we reluctantly paid the service charge and left. Since going here I found others were in the same position. I have just read your reply which I appreciate you taking the time to do so. I do understand the whole 90mins etc but it's the way it was done. There were 4 of us and all of us felt exactly the same about how rude the female was theres no taking away from that we arent making this up. We won't...

Last minute booking for valentine's dinner. I and my bf really enjoyed our wee experience in this very cute and lovely decorated restaurant. The staff were very attentive - girl with orange/ginger hair took our order and and made our experience really easy and enjoyable. She was really well knowledgeable when it comes to dietary requirements which made the experience even easier. I am vegetarian and my bf vegan and I forgot to mention that I'm vegetarian and they made my dish vegan too (without the cream sauce) however as soon as i mentioned that my pasta didn't have cream the manager offer very fast to fix this and he came very fast with a freshly prepared pasta. I felt very bad because it was my fault to not mention to our lovely waitress but they were all so nice. My bf had a vegan pizza and I had pasta and asharing focaccia. I really wish we had some space for dessert but I was far too full. Took the leftover for take away and had it for lunch today. Also a curly hair lady gave all the tables a rose each which was a lovely detail. Thank you very much for making our...
