I have wandered past this place several times and always been curious despite me not really being a huge sushi lover. I visited here February 2025 with someone from Chile to give them a taste from home and it was a brilliant experience. Firstly I should point out that you have to wait about 10-15 minutes for your food as it was cooked/prepared fresh to order, you do get told this at the ordering point so if you are in a hurry then do consider this before ordering.
We were not fussed and would rather wait so we get something fresh and were allowed to wander around town for 10 minutes until returning where we then sat down in the stools at the window and chatted to the owners who were very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. We got the beef Empanadas which my friend from Chile said was like being back at home, a smile came upon his face as he was eating, he hadn't been in Chile since before Covid and it really made him happy, I had never tried one before but I enjoyed it. It reminded me of a Cornish pasty but with lots more gravy and no potato and was served with a garlic dip. I have been told by someone that they have stopped doing these? I cannot say for sure but if so then that is a shame as they were delicious.
We also had some deep fried chicken sushi that was served with a teriyaki sauce dip. They were really nice and light and were nice enough even without the dip and I will definitely be returning when I have friends visiting the city who love their sushi.
Pricing was more expensive than your standard lunch going to a cafe for a toastie etc but still fair pricing for the actual quantity and quality of the meal. I think the Empanadas were around £7-8 and the Sushi was around £14.
Thank you Sushi Ness for your delicious meal and giving the city...
Read moreI've been to plenty of sushi and sushi-fusion restaurants and was pleasantly surprised to find this chilean-sushi fusion place here in Inverness. Menu is very small. Essentially 5 different types of protein (salmon, lamb, chicken, heart of palm, and tempura prawn) across 3 different items (regular sushi roll, deep-fried roll, and poke-style bowl). I had the lamb sushi roll and the deep-fried tempura prawn roll. I hadn't had a deep-fried roll before, but I really enjoyed it. Didn't feel too heavy after eating like you except for fried food and it paired very well with the sauce. I'll preface that I'm not a huge fan of cream cheese in sushi and, with many rolls utilizing it here, those who dislike cream cheese may find the choices on the menu limiting here. I decided to try the lamb roll anyhow and while the lamb itself was great, I thought the cream cheese was a bit overpowering. Overall, I would definitely come back here again if I were ever in the city and I think it's worth a visit if you're looking for sushi or trying...
Read moreI have been coming here for the last three weeks and I can't recommend it enough. The chefs Iggy and Christian are so passionate about their work that you can taste it in their sushi.
All their sushi is made to order and generous portion sizes I've tried the California Sake and the salmon was brilliant and fresh. Christian recommended the deep fried panko tori... Now I thought this was the Scottish gimmick of deep frying everything including your house keys YET it was banging. The sauce complimented it, fresh oil to give it a nice crisp and just all around delicious.
I think this place needs more notice when you're walking by.
Just about to try their Ceviche and I...
