Simply put; amazing, exceptionally authentic food with a massive range of choice available that you don't see in other restaurants and takeaways.
We've used their home delivery option countless times, and visited the restaurant itself once after being so impressed by the takeaway food. Unlike many other indian delivery takeaways, the food comes in good large portions with plenty of actual meat or veg in a delicious sauce every time. Due to us ordering from here so many times, we've only maybe twice had an error with the wrong food delivered (masala instead of mahkani). But it's so tasty we didn't bother to complain, we just scoffed it! Plus this has happened only once or twice out of all the times we've ordered from here. Depending on when you order, delivery can take from 20 minutes to an hour, so it's worth getting it in there early before the tea time rush! Plus, when you get a delivery, you currently get loads of free extras including extra papadum, sauces, and/or bhajis. And you earn points towards a £10 off voucher once you've spent £100. Which is almost half the price of a meal for two, so it's great value considering the food isn't outrageously expensive either. About £5-8 for a curry without rice, and I'm personally very happy to pay this for the quality and all the free extras. If I can control my greed, the quantity you get can easily feed us for two meals instead of one.
In short, I really don't think it's possible to be dissapointed by Last Monsoon. We certainly never have been. Definitely try this over anything you'll find on Just Eat or...
Read moreFirst time we went here, was in a group of five. The service was terrible, we waited 35 minutes for starters, 40 minutes for mains, dessert wasn't offered. The food was terrible and we complained. They offered us a 'free' meal. We booked our 'free' meal. The service was just as poor, the food terrible and we did not push the boat out, with ordering food as it was 'free.' We weren't even recognised as disgruntled customers. We got up to leave and they chased us out into the car park, saying we hadn't paid and it took us a further 25 minutes to explain, even the Police were called at one point! We have never felt so humiliated and insulted in all our lives. I never wanted the 'free' meal because I believed that, if they couldn't deliver first time around, they certainly weren't going to deliver again. I was badgered into going, now I tell everyone it should be renamed The Last Resort! I will never entertain a meal there if they paid me. It's a fraudulent business and the service is diabolical. If they have no intention of serving you, why don't they just come clean? I don't understand restaurants that act in this manner. I can say hand on heart that there are no decent restaurants left in Stockport and surrounding areas. If you listen carefully you will hear the multiple PINGS of the Microwaves! The last decent restaurant in Stockport was The Mashaal on Prince's Street across from Debenhams. The Mashaal cooked everything fresh and boy could they make a Balti correctly, in a Balti Dish and not some slop on a plate! I wouldn't give the Last...
Read moreReally disappointed tonight. Booking for 18 people booked two weeks in advance for a 50th birthday party with an £50 deposit paid. Arrived to see that we’d be split over two tables with our backs to each other. A bit annoying really as it felt like two separate bookings but fair enough in a way as it was a big booking. Half way through the meal an equally large group arrives with no booking, not only did they manage to be seated together, but one table of our group were asked to move to accommodate them!
Both of our tables had orders taken separately and food served separately, despite being the same booking. When we voiced our frustration to the manager/owner, his arrogant and dismissive attitude did little to make up for the inconvenience, stating that asking us to move was ‘his right’ and we have to accept it. He offered no apology or credible explanation for what had happened. Furthermore, the deposit we had paid to secure the booking wasn’t deducted from the bill without us prompting. Quite a convenient oversight.
It seems a shame that the manager/owner has undermined the efforts of his staff, who were attentive and helpful throughout. The food we received was also delicious. Unfortunately last monsoon has lost 18 customers as a result who have visited the venue on multiple occasions. You would think with such a large booking and the opportunity to make a significant amount of money would be enough to ensure that the venue goes the extra mile, not on...
