Got taken to the Queens last night by a client after a great meal in town. It's apparently one of the pubs they have been visiting for years when in Swansea for projects. So worth the walk..... Nice old pub, both sat chatting when one of the young barman came in and turned off the lights behind the bar...... both of us had about a 3rd of a pint left. So as my round, said is it last orders, can we have a couple more before you stop. The main bar was still busy, and we could see they were still all drinking...... to be told no, we've stoped now m8.
So carried on chatting while we finished...... to then have the other barman come in and start pulling more pints for the locals in the other side...... asked what's going on? To be told we Only serve the locals, and went...

Read moreLovely old pub, near the Marina. It's like stepping back to a time when pubs were proper ale houses! Food is served up to early afternoon. Great menu, home cooked and great value. We had 3 different meals and they were all a good size and very tasty. Great choice of ales, Theakstons ales on draught, excellent! Being a bit picky, but bar staff tended to see to 'regulars ' first. I would definitely recommend the Queens to anyone who wants a great pint in a lovely old pub...
