If you’re wandering through Llandudno and your stomach starts whispering sweet nothings about bacon and eggs, do yourself a favour: head straight to Take A Break Cafe. Tucked just off the pier with a welcoming charm that’s hard to ignore, this cosy gem doesn't just serve breakfast—they deliver morning happiness, plated and perfectly brewed. I stopped in once, fully expecting a decent fry-up. What I got was nothing short of glorious: piping hot plates stacked with all the breakfast essentials, cooked to perfection and seasoned with care. Sausages with snap, golden yolks resting on toast like royalty, and hash browns that should come with a warning label for addictive crunchiness. And the coffee? It’s the kind that convinces you that everything’s going to be alright. So good, in fact, that I came back the next day. Yep—lightning struck twice. The staff remembered me, greeted me like an old mate, and served up another knockout breakfast that proved the first visit was no fluke. Final thought: Take A Break Cafe lives up to its name—twice over. Great food, lovely staff, and the kind of no-nonsense quality that makes you wish breakfast lasted all day.

Date of Visit: 25/04/2024 - Lovely breakfast cooked as requested and nice smooth lattes too… The ladies working knew pretty much everyone entering by name, which I thought was very personable. My wife and I will definitely return when we’re next in Llandudno - Thank you for your service :)

Amazing 👏 Came in for a breakfast was absolutely lovely, thick cut bacon, perfectly fried eggs, lovely mushrooms, food was perfect, service brilliant, Price if anything is underpriced for the amount and quality of the food and service, will be coming again.

EDIT after a reply from the owner: The table we sat at was completely clear of items/plates/mugs. It was simply a sticky, unwiped table. We were handed menus when we sat down without an offer to wipe the table until the waitress was prompted. I also returned the black coffee and orange juice to the same waitress, who accepted it without asking if there was a problem. You might feel this review does not reflect your business, but it certainly reflected our visit. It was Easter Sunday, you opened at 9, and we walked in at 2 minutes past and sat at a dirty table? Your manic 3 days suggests staff didn't wipe down correctly the day before. My handle is also the name of my favourite song by my favourite artist, and has nothing to do with visiting establishments. An unfortunate, defensive reply which shows a lack of professionalism Sat down at an unwiped table, however the waitress rectified this when I mentioned it. Ordered an orange juice and a black coffee, the orange was concentrate from a carton and the coffee was the worst I've ever tried. Left both almost untouched. My daughter ordered fried eggs on toast which to be fair were good. The scrambled egg my son ordered was abysmal, presumably made by someone who has never scrambled eggs before. The Belgian waffle my wife ordered was rock hard, impossible to cut through with a spoon presumably microwaved for far too long. My belly buster breakfast was fair, although let down by cheap sausages. Expected more from this place after reading reviews. It's seems most people are happy as long as a place is inexpensive. Left a £2 tip because the staff were pleasant and attentive to be fair, and the cheap quality products they work with is not really their fault....

Ordered a cheese salad with a portion of chips. Received a large plate with a mountain of iceberg lettuce, a few halves of tiny tomatoes, few baby beets and a few pickled onions. Eventually found some tiny pieces of pepper under the lettuce. Some bland cheese and basic coleslaw were dumped on top in tiny ramekins. Small bowl of chips totalled 18 very basic frozen chips. Whole meal was bland and uninspired. Ate it all apart from some of the iceberg but was still hungry. Had to ask for cutlery. Bland mayo was two small sachets dumped on the table. Staff were friendly enough but wouldn’t eat...
