I expected this to be a local steak house, as it was recommended by several people in the town, but it was very much like a chain steakhouse, such as Applebee's or Chilis. They copied some of the same menu items from other chains (house salad exactly like Texas Roadhouse, bread sticks exactly like Olive Garden, Jack Daniels chicken exactly like TGIFridays, etc) but it was a bit pricey for a chain restaurant food. The steaks did not come with anything at all and you had to pay extra for everything - including butter. It was $2.00 each for onions, peppers, mushrooms, butter, steak sauce, etc. In the end it's like a $50 steak but from a Chilis. I was definitely disappointed. To buy a reasonably priced dinner, I did the chicken breast dinner and paid $2.00 extra for Jack Daniels sauce. It was excellent. The cheddar mashed potatoes side (that were raved about by our waitress) were not very good at all, just a dry lump of potatoes. My friend chose the Cesar salad as her side and it came out looking like the exact same garden salad we all had (tomatoes, red onion, shredded cheddar on top) with Cesar dressing. We pointed this out to the waiter and she apologized and then came back with the exact same salad, minus the tomatoes LOL. So it was a Cesar salad you had to pay extra for, but it wasn't a Cesar salad at all. The nachos were terrible, with soggy peppers on top. Overall, I was super disappointed and would not eat here again.

The food is typically good although it's hit and miss with getting your steak the way you request it. The real issue I have with the place is the service. We went there last night for a birthday supper. When I got the bill I noticed an alcohol charge for various mixed drinks and beer, over $25 worth. When the waitress finally came back I explained that none of us had had any alcohol. Mistakes happen but this has happened to me at Mavericks no less than 3 times. Once okay. 3 times it's no longer a coincidence. I tip well, at least 20%, but if someone is going to pull this little stunt then nope. I wonder how many people just pay the bill without looking it over. That's not a very good business practice. I don't mind paying top dollar for a good meal but please don't try to scam me. I'd give the food a 5 but the service a 1 so I guess that averages out to a 3.

Absolutely. Freakin'. AMAZING. Great vibe, great food, and the servers were prompt, kind and helpful. Despite being in the middle of a huge lunch rush, I was able to quickly order and I got my meal fast as well. The Brisket Mac 'n Cheese Grilled Cheese sandwich was phenomenal! The bread had the perfect balance of crispy and chewy, the cheese and mac n cheese were creamy and rich, and the brisket was filled with smoky deliciousness. The side of barbecue sauce was jaw-dropping, too! Absolutely perfect for either the sandwich or the fries. I used it with my fries because the sandwich needed NOTHING else. Needless to say, I walked away stuffed and happy! And the price point for the quality of the meal made me smile, too! If you want a good meal with great service, this place is IT.

i am appalled at the sustenance served at this establishment. Upon entering, I was brimming with hope, my expectations were inflated by the glowing reviews. i soon was greeted by a lovely young lady who was quite chipper. The downfall began promptly with the salad. they were nothing special nor delicious. it was drowned in what I can only describe as a dairy avalanche. The texture? Wilting. The flavor? Absent. this was a tragedy of vegetation. Then came my second cousin Joe’s misfortune. he was met with grilled chicken SOAKED in chilled barbecue sauce. his meal was supposed to be breaded fried chicken, he could not choke down the sahara like chicken. my third cousin mario dared to order the prime rib sandwich with mashed potatoes. the second it was brought out, he was taken aback. the mashed up mess of potatoes were extremely dry, hard and undercooked. they were thick going down his gullet. Mario nearly choked on this microwaved monstrosity, gasping for air like a Dickensian orphan. in addition, the sandwich was overly salted. it was so heavily, he could barely finish a bite. next, my great aunt sue begged for a salad. she was greeted with soggy lettuce soaked in a MOUND of plasticy cheese. while, my third cousin isabella called for the jumbo shrimp. unfortunately, the minute she saw these shrimp, she gasped in horror. these shrimp were TINY. she had not felt this betrayed since her wedding night. overall, this was a huge...

Stop to visit for a quick lunch after a long weekend of fishing was recommended as a great place to eat after standing at the hostess stand for a whopping 15 minutes before I was even acknowledged I thought you know I’ll just walk into the bar area and sit down most restaurants don’t have seating preferences for the bar area as I went to sit down I noticed that the seating in the bar area had tables that would give me a view of my vehicle and as I had fishing equipment in the back of my truck I would like to be able to keep an eye on it while I was eating . so I requested to sit in that specific area. The server said that area was closed off I explained my situation asked that since the area was only about 10 feet away from the bar where they were seating people if maybe they can make an exception and she refused so I told her that I would have to go someplace else and eat because I preferred to sit where I could see my vehicle apparently they don’t mind losing business and getting a bad review over 10 feet. And FYI customers don’t care if you’re short staffed customers don’t care if you got a walk and extra 10 feet to wait on them if I’m there to spend money on probably an overpriced appetizer and a water down drink I think the least you can do is put in a few extra steps. However I did go to Minervas and it was absolutely amazing and they let me sit...
