Placed a "to go" order. Showed up. Texted the phone # on the sign with our spot to let them know we were there. Got a text saying "thanks, food will be out shortly." Ok. Waited 20 min. Got annoyed, so went inside to see what was going on, because it didn't seem that busy.
While standing in line waiting to talk to cashier, I immediately notice a shelf off to the side full of to-go & pickup-only orders. Nobody was running to-go orders out to cars. Why? I have no clue.
They figure out which order is mine. I ask them how long it's been sitting on the warming shelf, b/c I was concerned that it had been sitting there for a while w/o us realizing it. For the price we're paying, I wanted to eat a fresh hamburger, not one sitting for a long time.
They said it's been there for 5 min. Ok, so it's been ready for 5 min. So, why hasn't anyone brought it out to the "to go" spot we're sitting at?
Anyways, get the food to the car. Decide to check the order over to see if anything was missed (b/c so far I'm not impressed by the service).
Wife opens up the sweet potato fry box... they're limp and soggy. Opens up the normal fry box.. they're limp and soggy and undercooked.
Take the fries back in. Manager was behind the bar and asked me if there was anything she could help me with. I showed her the fries, and asked for a refund, because we had places to go and didn't have time to wait for more to get made (and, honestly, with what we saw, weren't going to wait for more lackluster fries to get made).
She was very polite. Said, she'd refund the fries.
By this time, we were hungry (we were going to eat the fries on the way home), so decided to pull into another spot & eat the burgers in the parking lot instead of waiting to get home.
My wife's burger was ok (hot, juicy). My classic burger with gluten-free bun was very lackluster. The bun tasted (and acted) like someone made a biscuit out of pancake mix. The steam inside the burger box caused it to disintegrate easily. It was very mealy-tasting.
The burger meat was bland. Tasted like it wasn't seasoned.
The lettuce on the burgers is low-quality iceberg. And by that I mean it wasn't the green leafy parts of the ice-berg lettuce, but the nasty, bitter white stem parts.
If this was a fast food place, I wouldn't be so critical. But, we paid $6/ea fry (so $12 for fries), and like $10/ea burger. We've had better burgers and fries from fast food places. So, if fast food places serve up better food, I'm definitely going to be critical of a boutique burger place charging tons of money for worse-quality food. There's no excuse for bland burgers and poor-quality ingredients.
Wife had good experiences here before (different location), so maybe it's this location, or they were just having an off-night.
But, this is unacceptable.
Wife just told me the manager refunded our entire meal, not just the fries. So, the manager comp'ed the meal. While I appreciate that, it doesn't change my opinion about the food or service. Awful food that's free is...
Read moreExtremely disappointed.
This review is a reflection of the service not the food. We were regular customers until today. My mom came to visit and she always loved those burgers so we took both of my parents there, it was extremely sad that they crashed part of our day with their terrible services and bad behavior.
The food came out wrong because the cashiers were doing change of shift and she wasn’t paying attention. We tried to explain to the other waitress that the food was wrong and she kept raising her voice and saying it was right. We went to talk to the cashiers and their attitude only made things escalate, the kept saying that they didn’t care what we said, and never admitted that the mistake was theirs.
The kept laughing at our faces, and replying to us, and even worst they were taking to other people in the place and kept laughing at us.
I told her “the client is always right” specially because I have worked with customer service before, and the lady kept replying back saying “no, the client is not always right” and that’s only an example.
One of the waitresses (the one who got the order wrong) said to my brother and I “We don’t care”.
The managers came and kept trying to solve the issue, and the 3 waitresses/cashiers kept arguing, responding, and mocking at us.
It was an extremely upsetting and disappointed situation. It should have never escalated to that point. That only shows lack of training and liking for their job. Until we left no one apologized or even recognized that they were wrong and that it never should have reach to the point that we left the food and asked for a reimbursement.
We have been treated better at Mcdonals that in Hopdoddy, so I truly hope that the rest of the people have a better luck with the waitresses and cashiers.
Upside to all the situation the cooking lady was...
Read moreOrdered truffle fries, classic burgers and it took ages to get our food. How long does it take to get burgers and fries when the place is empty? My husband was getting hangry as was I. Our cashier who was also our server was asking another customer sitting next to us if they wanted any sauces to go with their fries. I saw an angry blonde woman folding a box come out and interrupt our server to tell them to go crush boxes in the back. Then that same woman, interrupted the man that was eating next us to not distracting the server from working. I looked at my husband baffled by what just happened... Moments later that same woman is standing around with drinks laughing with a young girl wearing glasses not really doing anything. Server eventually brought our food along with our BBQ sauce we requested and apologized for the wait. We still don't understand what took so long to get our food. Also, she confirmed for us that was woman we saw earlier was indeed the manager, and if we wanted to talk to her. We said no, as my husband didn't want to deal with getting a refund after seeing how the manager was acting. Our server, bless her heart, asked us if everything was okay and seemed genuinely concerned, and we told her she was doing a good job and to keep at it since she seemed to be the only one working. Our burgers were not well done like we requested, and there was only one small tomato and the cheese on my husband burger seemed to just be slapped on there cold. Also, the truffle fries seemed like a small portion despite the menu stating it was large enough for several people. The service we received from our server was great, but the food was not worth the price we paid. Will not be coming back as we now see why it was empty in the...
