Lucy's Bakery — Restaurant in Alaska

We visited Lucy's on June 2nd during our Alaskan cruise trip.

This place was given as a recommendation from one of the servers at the Skagway brewing company. He told us that we hands down had to get one of the cinnamon rolls at Lucy's before we left.

So we made the quick little walk to this bakery headed away down a cool tunnel looking alley to get that cinnamon roll.

The bakery itself was very cute it had two sections inside and was quite welcoming. The individual behind the cash register I believe was one of the owners and he had nothing but a big smile on his face and was greeting everyone so warmly. He was also quite excited to give out recommendations when we told him it was our first time here. For my caffeinated drink I got there summer latte which had a bit of lavender. It was deliciously silky smooth. The rest of my party just wanted straight up caffeine and got a special shots that work great quality.

Now for the main event which was the cinnamon roll. We were so lucky that there were three left. Our group before got two of them and it was the best decision we made. The bread itself was soft with a little bit of a crunch on the outside. The glaze on top was not overly sweet and had such a rich flavor that it truly enhanced the spices within the cinnamon roll itself.

If you are ever in the area and have a chance to try out Lucy's bakery go early to make sure that you can get one of them...

We had the chai cupcake, vanilla bean scone and cinnamon roll. All three were AMAZING!

chai cupcake: not too sweet (a high compliment coming from and asian iykyk). The cake part was very good even on its own and has a likeness to a good banana bread. The icing wasnt too over powering.

Vanilla bean scone: wonderful and pleasant flavour and an overall great scone!

Cinnamon roll: now i don't care for cinnamon rolls and in the past, walking past a cinnabon would make me nauseous from the pure sweet smell. Lucy's cinnamon roll was wonderfully balanced. I found in the past, cinnamon roll bread is usually dry and the only thing that saves it is the icing. But Lucy's breading part was just as good on its own as it was with the icing.

15/10 would recommend.

The shop its self is so cute and a small personalized...

I was visiting Skagway on a cruise ship stop this past May. When walking through town we overheard a local giving people travel tips and I heard the words "vanilla bean scone." I butted in and said, "excuse me, where are these Vanilla bean scones you recommend?" And he said Lucy's Bakery and explained how they were not dry, had flecks of vanilla bean and a great glaze. His name was Davis and he was spot on. This adorable bakery in a light blue tiny building, maybe once a garage? Had delicious vanilla bean scones and they were just as Davis described. We also got a cinnamon bun and some chocolate chip cookies ...all scrumptious. When I go back to Alaska, I will make it a point to stop back at...
