Something in the food.
Just something to keep in mind. I've been to SIP Cafe before mainly for coffee. Once in awhile, I've noticed an off taste or slight strange feeling afterwards but was still able to carry on throughout the day with some pepermint so I didn't think too much about it. I just visited less often.
Today was different. It's been awhile so I decided to stop for lunch.
First, I noticed the gal seemed to rush me even though there was only 1 other person in line, next she didn't even ask my preference but instead suggested I take my food to go. Strange. Normally I would eat at a table but it was nice out so I thought I'd just eat outside. No big deal right?
I ordered a breakfast sandwich which the same gal quickly offered to heat up. She took the sandwich and disappeared behind the bar. Thinking all was good, I took the sandwich, left and within 10-15 min. of eating, there was a sudden sharp pain that hit. No food allergies to report and I felt great the whole morning up until this point. The pain only increased afterwards making me quiet sick.
From my experiences alone, I simply can not recommend SIP Cafe but I sincerely hope no one else has the same odd and very painful...
Read moreThe location isn't the most attractive but once inside I can see what all the hype is about. It's a beautiful interior with tall ceiling and clean minimalist appeal. They made use of the limited space behind the counter drawing the eye up a couple of very tall menu boards. Though the height can't make up for the tight quarters in the dining area, which was at capacity throughout my visit, the aesthetic was a nice change of pace for Anchorage. Kudos to them for their popularity and success so far. The lack of seating made the idea of staying less likely but I hope to come back at a less busy time and find a seat to enjoy one of their espresso flights. A couple of items in the customer-facing display needed some tending too (saw mold in a berry dish) but overall the presentation was well-executed. I had a ham and cheese breakfast croissant to-go with a coffee and smoothie. All well worth the trip. If you're looking for something different, an elevated coffee experience that offers more than your usual drive-thru order I would suggest checking them out. They also have mimosas so I'll...
Read moreFirst time here and I like it, very good first impression. I like the coffee and the menu has a big selection. Cafe au lait is actually on the menu here! I was surpised to see so many favorites for a good price. Prices are average. I paid $5 for a 20oz latte today. These ladies even have fresh made goodies that they bake on the spot! Also, some healthy choices available, as well as granola parfait and snacks (grapes and cheese) They will take your cash, or visa/mastercard. Although they serve Black Cup coffee and Kaladi Brothers coffee, they do not accept their gift cards at this time, although I'm hopeful this may change. You can get a punch card here, every 11th drink free. I can't say for sure about apple/samsung pay, but they are using a tablet based system so I'd be hard pressed to believe they don't accept tap to pay. The music is positive and uplifting/upbeat here at the cafe and...
