Desert Sky Café — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Updated review from November 2023: I placed an online order around 11:30 am. Came in at 12:10 & waited until 12:40, watched people come in, stand in line, order and get their food and leave. I finally asked about my order and was told rudly by blonde girl they are very busy and that I can just get refunded if I don't want to wait. I ordered just ONE turkey club. & that's it... I was on my lunch break and had to go back to work WITHOUT lunch... It's really on me though for trying again after the last time I went and got a bacon and ranch chicken sandwich that came with NO RANCH. Driest $13 sandwich ($9 for sandwich & $4 Tip) I've ever choked down in my entire life 😩 Not sure how this place gets so much business and good ratings because my only 2 experiences here were more than disappointing. I have been disappointed a few times getting the same thing. I get the western hashbrowns. It seems like the cook doesn't care about how he cooks. He gave me old mushy hashbrowns. They were not fresh.. I'm very specific on how I like them. After a while I realized how they make them. So changed it so I can have them the way I like them. I get every place makes them in their way. I wanted them crispy. So I specified crispy with Chile and cheese on the side. They weren't crispy seemed to much with grease to make them mushy. I'm disappointed because this has happened multiple times. I hate that i am complaining 😞 I have been in the restraunt business for over 20 years. This café is hands-down one of the best spots in downtown Albuquerque. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed — and that’s thanks in large part to Jamie, the amazing owner. She pours so much heart into this place, and it really shows. You can feel the love in the atmosphere, in the food, and in the way every customer is treated.

The food is consistently delicious and the entire menu is outstanding! The space is warm, cozy, and inviting — perfect for everything from catching up with a friend to stopping in for a quick bite. Jamie, her husband and the staff are not only friendly but genuinely kind — they make you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit.
