The atmosphere of this place was great. Service, kitchen, and management need help. I don’t know if the server had too big of a section, but she was the least attentive server I have ever had. The manager was sitting on his phone at the hostess desk. The sandwiches we ordered were good, but ticket times were extremely long (for drinks too). I ordered the steak and chorizo sandwich. The only problem was, there was no chorizo, they substituted ham, which tasted great, however it was not what I expected. We also ordered guacamole and salsa and it had zero taste and we never got the salsa. We asked for limes to fix up the bland guac... “sorry, were out”. We notified the server that we couldn’t eat it and she apologized. 45 minutes later when she came back to the table we asked for the check. The check still had the guac on it. We asked them to remove it, so she got the manager to take it off. Remember manager on the phone while the front of the house is going down in flames and the back of the house 86ing items unbeknownst to him or his staff? He came over and apologized and said “yeah, the kitchen staff ran out of some stuff and just made substitutions to make it work. I apologize, we took it off the check”.
Mr manager- you should know when items are 86’d. You should know when you servers need help. And you should be talking to every table at least once in their visit. Not standing there on your phone until there is a problem
Server- ask for help if you need help. Communication is key. If we as the customer know, we will be much more understanding.
Kitchen- make sure all staff know when something is 86’d. Don’t make random substitutions. In this case ham for chorizo, the ham could have given someone an allergic reaction. Some people are allergic to the curing process of ham but can have other pork products.
EDIT: I stand corrected. There is supposed to be ham in the steak and chorizo sandwich, although it lacked the chorizo the sandwich was still good. Thank you for management responding. However, please note the food was not the problem...The service and management was...
Read moreFirst off, it takes a lot for me to complain, specially to give a negative review. I normally would just choose to not go back to an establishment..however over the coarse of our evening there were SEVERAL things that made me want to get up & walk out before we ever got our food. Although the atmosphere was ok apparently they were understaffed. I completely understand as I myself have worked in customer service. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it took about 20 min to get just waters at our table. Then our waiter, who was super nice & trying the best he could really didn’t know the menu & got our drink orders wrong. Still, I understand…no big deal. After everyone got their drinks, I still did not receive mine until almost 10 min later. Just a glass of wine. Still..I understand. Even though it wasn’t busy. Lots of empty tables. We had to get up to get our own napkins from the bar. Still no big deal. Once we put the appetizer order in, we received it then had to “flag down” another waiter to get silverware. It wasn’t until after someone in our party had to step on a rather large COCKROACH that I contemplated ending the night. Someone did come to clean it up. If we hadn’t traveled from Marietta/Woodstock, I would have left at that point, but I didn’t want to be “that” person. I’m an adult, I know these things happen & still managed to order food after this!! I, along with another in our party ordered the same dish (Southwest chicken bowl) & it was TERRIBLE. The quinoa/rice wasn’t even cooked!!! It was crunchy! At that point I was done. We both sent our dishes back & they did say that they would send out another but I declined & said no thanks. I finished my 1 glass of wine & waited for our party of 6 to finish. All adults & no one was drunk. We were all very patient & cordial. It was unbelievable to me that NO ONE (except the random guy as he took our food away) came out to apologize for anything! It’s disappointing because we came from another city & the menu/online description looked amazing. Next time we will just venture upstairs to Jekyll & won’t be going back...
Read moreStopped in a few days ago for a drink and snack. This is the second of their locations I have been to, and the second time I would give it a one star review. The food is good, but unfortunately cannot make up for the horrendous service. On this occasion, the restaurant was not busy. We sat at the bar and there were maybe 4-5 other people seated at the very large bar that could likely accomodate 30. The nearly empty bar was dirty. It had many spots with finished drinks where it appeared the patrons had long departed, and the remainder of the bar was stained and sticky. The bar tender did not introduce herself, but rather asked us to help her clear the bar by handing her other peoples finished drinks. In all fairness to her, the bar is not set up for shorter bar tenders. Upon ordering our drinks, we retrieved our own coasters since they were not placed for us. The bar tender did not check in to make sure the drinks were ok. She at no time offered a food menu, and when we asked if the kitchen was open, she said "I don't know" and then had to ask us the time to decide if she would put in our order. We were there about 50 minutes before the kitchen closed. When the food was ready, a very nice waitress brought us our food since our bartender was more focused on closing the bar (which according to their hours was open for another 3 hours) instead of attending to her customers. We were not presented with napkins, and they were not readily available. Since garnering our bartenders attention seemed to be a chore, I went to the bathroom to wipe my face. The restaurant has 4 single person bathrooms, 2 of which were locked but not occupied. 1 was labeled women's, and the mens had a wait. Seems silly to have 4 bathrooms and then lock customers out of them. Management was absent the entirety of our visit, although the standards in place make it seem like management is entirely absent. I will not return to this location or any CCT location as this seems to be the standard experience at...
