Highly underwhelming!!
We sat on the street side to have a couple of drinks after a meal since the weather was lovely and good for people watching. Hostess was pleasant after she looked up from her phone. The tables and chairs were wobbling so we had to change tables.
We were served what appeared to be tap water which had a funky taste and smell to it. The wine my wife wanted was not available so we ordered 2 old fashioned’s instead. The drinks were decent but definitely not worth $21 each. What was worse was that when the check came they levied an additional 3% charge for the credit card. Our server was pleasant, but she was more interested in chatting with her friends. This place appeared great for college kids visiting town and spending their parents money.
Sunset really needs to improve their proposition in order to deliver at the level of bars and restaurants in the area. They need to go above and beyond in-fact to get people to keep returning.
My suggestions:
Invest in water filtration systems like others have. (We all know how bad the water quality is in Georgia)
Invest in better quality tables & chairs
Invest in POS systems so we don’t have to wait 10 minutes for a check and the server to take my card back to pay. (What era are we in? 2005?)
Stop being cheap and charging the 3% credit card fee on top of the bill. Price it into your menu like the rest of the industry. We already have the insane tipping culture to deal with!!
Get with the town/land lord and spray for the massive 1–1.5 inch long cockroaches hanging around the curbs pls. Saw at least 3-4 over a 1 hour sitting.
Maybe look to hire some professional servers.
Like I said....
Read moreSad to post this, and I hope they improve. Vibe (Garden Room) was okay for the suburbs.
Meat was undercooked (steak skewers came out rare, we ordered medium-well). Some of our food hadn't made it out almost 1.5 hrs after our seating time. Ravioli had water pouring out of it and tasted like food that was frozen/packaged and defrosted.
We were there on a Saturday and I believe almost 4-5 of the entrees were unavailable.
Prices don't match their website: the ribeye is $32 online and $52 when you're there. Don't expect to spend under $20 for most dishes. Outside of rent I don't see the justification for these prices. Most cocktails were $18. Prices don't match location/venue.
Wagyu sliders came out with bacon on them which is not listed on the menu. For some that's great, for folks that don't eat pork it's quite off-putting.
We kept getting extra orders of dishes we ordered (e.g. 2 instead of 3). Some staff were understanding of our frustration, the manager at least initially didn't appear to be (overheard him stating "we'll just call the cops" in response to someone from our party stating we were not laying for the poor quality food).
The manager initially came out with 50% comp. In the end, food was taken off (thanks to a very vocal member of our party) and we only paid for alcohol.
Sorry to see this happen, but I hope the staff/kitchen can get their rhythm down because there is some potential, though the menu is a bit confusing in terms of their identity.
If they don't, it will likely end up like many a new restaurant in the metro Atlanta area = all hype with little...
Read moreWhat a night at Sunset Alpharetta! The atmosphere is effortlessly chic and inviting …the lighting, the décor, the energy …it all sets the stage for a memorable evening. The staff greeted us warmly, gave great suggestions, and kept everything flowing smoothly without ever rushing us.
We began with the Wagyu Sliders, which were rich, juicy, and topped just right…a perfect little bite to kick things off. The Sunburst Tuna Tartare was equally impressive, bright and fresh with mango and pineapple notes.
For my entrée, I went with the Miso Black Cod…tender, silky, and beautifully glazed, with a subtle citrus lift. My partner had the Hawaiian Ribeye, grilled to a perfect medium-rare, with tropical marinades that elevated the steak without overpowering it.
We also enjoyed coconut rice and island-glazed mushrooms on the side…both flavorful and excellent complements.
Let’s talk drinks: the cocktail menu is creative and the execution was spot-on. Our drinks were refreshing, balanced, and beautifully presented. They really know how to craft a perfect cocktail to match the food and vibe.
To end the night, we indulged in the Black Cherry Ricotta Cheesecake…creamy, just sweet enough, and a lovely finish.
Everything…from the pacing to the service to the plating — felt thoughtfully done. The flavors were bold where they should be and delicate where they needed to be. Sunset Alpharetta doesn’t just deliver a meal, it delivers an experience.
If you’re in Alpharetta and want to treat yourself, this place is absolutely worth it....
