I wanted to order the special Easter Family Feast for my younger brother, Dan, as he was quarantined at home with COVID. I tried ordering online and the website would not allow me to pre-order the Easter feast. Since I live in St. Petersburg, I was definitely wanted to have the order placed and paid for so that my brother's girlfriend, Darlene, could just swing by and pick it up on Easter morning. When I called the Douglas Avenue location in Altamonte Springs (nearest to where they live), I spoke with Jennifer, the store manager, that at first told me that I could not pre-order and prepay for the Easter Feast. She said I had to call back at 7 am Easter morning and place the order. This made me very nervous that it wouldn't be available and also kind of frustrated that I was having so many issue trying to purchase an advertised meal. Thankfully, Jennifer took notice of my frustration and referred me to Lori Wyatt the Catering Manager for all of Florida. Great move Jennifer!! When I called after 6 pm on the Thursday evening before Easter, I got Lori's voicemail and my heart sank thinking she wouldn't get the message in time to help me out. Wrong! Lori called me back within 15 minutes and said that she was away from her desk, but she promised to call me back the next morning at 9 am. Promptly at 9 the next morning, Lori called, I placed the order, she took my payment , and we set up a pick up time for Easter morning. I told Lori how happy she made me and why I was buying my younger brother this Feast. Dan is a Publix manager who has worked tirelessly for the entire pandemic and now he finally happened to get sick. Lori told me how sweet it was of me, and I thanked her for helping me. On Easter morning when the Feast was picked up, I received numerous overwhelmed texts and phone calls from my brother and his girlfriend. The most special touch was the very festive Easter bunnies riding on a carrot salt and pepper set that Lori threw in as a little surprise! I can't thank her enough for her help and her professionalism! Lori helped me give my brother Dan and his girlfriend Darlene a very special Easter...despite their circumstances! Thank you Lori...
Read moreIt started off on the wrong foot, and didn't end much better. Our name was called so we went to podium n gave our name. (Mind you, this couple who literally just walked in was seated) one of the girls says to another did u call "George" n she said yes,we just sat them. I instantly knew who it was as I just seen them come from across parking lot. They said let us call the seating manager, they told him n within minutes we were seated. Then we placed our order n our appetizer, loaded tots came out. Absolutely delish! Hot n fresh n tbh the best n hottest item in our meal. I ordered the chicken tenders and he did the Sunday pot roast meal. The Cornbread came out burnt (tried a piece to make sure it wasnt just dark n tasted burnt)and had to wait for biscuits as they were out. Both our meals were not hot at all, lukewarm at best. By then I didn't want to complain yet again to our waitress as we already had a couple of complaints n felt she was a little annoyed by us. She did offer to bring new Cornbread as she even said " I don't know how that happened", yet it was brought to our table. Not the service or quality expected at this place but by far our worst experience at one of ur establishments. She even made a comment that we barely ate n we just played it off that we don't eat much.
While we realize some names are more common than others, they should have realized they just literally took that couples name or something. Have an identifier space next to their name like red shirt, glasses etc. Surely this was NOT the first time this has happened. We also fault that couple, but hey if u don't have to wait, they took the opportunity. The potroast that came out on a skillet n he could touch the skillet as though it had been sitting. My tenders n fries, like I said was warm, again like the food sat longer than it should've. Definitely won't return to this location as the food just wasn't on par as to...
Read moreOur family hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in many years. We've never been too impressed. But with it being Thanksgiving, there weren't too many choices and my Mother-in-law chose it. First, they don't take reservations, so there is the long wait time, which wasn't all that long (more on that later). Second, they didn't have their full menu. They did list on their website however, a few choices for meals. When the 1st member of our group arrived, they were told that they only have one dinner choice. When I arrived, my wife asked about it because of the website listed multiple choices. Some people in our party do not eat meat. They told her that not only do they only have one meal, they only have Turkey and dressing. Then they announced on their loudspeaker with an annoyed tone in her voice, "We only have Turkey and Dressing," no other sides, no other meals, no substitutions. Just Turkey and Dressing." We noticed some people leaving, and the wait wasn't as long as we expected. While we were waiting for the last of our group and tried to figure out what we are going to do, they announced it again, with the same annoyed tone. Is it their first Thanksgiving? I thought they did this every year. We noticed another restaurant across the street was open, so we went there. This other restaurant is generally not thought of as being as good as Cracker Barrel, but they had everything on their menu, we were seated quickly, the service was great and the food was great. Why can't Cracker Barrel manage that? Oh well, I guess it might be a very long time before they get another chance with us. One more thing, we were telling friend of ours about what happened. They said they had the exact same experience a year prior! The only difference was that they ended up at a different restaurant around the corner. Apparently they fail at...
