This place has POTENTIAL to be an excellent place to stay. COULD have been a 4 to 5 star stay! We stayed in room 309, two queen beds overlooking I-4. Did not test the TV. The computer chair, side chair, beds and pillows were comfortable and clean! The mini fridge and freezer also worked, were clean, and wasn't caked with ice. The microwave worked and was clean. The A/C ultimately worked wonderfully! The wifi signal was great. We got a decent "Average Daily Rate" through Expedia, and were able to pay cash for the room and the deposit! Two of the three front-desk folks were great (Special thanks to Silva for her efforts!) There is a laundry facility (credit/debit or coin) where the wash is $2 for 30 min, although the spin didn't seem very effective on our towels. The dryer is also $2 for 60 min and was very effective! The Shampoo, Soap, and lotion worked & smelled great! (No conditioner?) The Pool was open and clean! BEAUTIFUL landscaping that looks like it's going to get even better in the near future! #worldpeacevan
(previous owner response to a review said renovations were 70% done...) However... these are preventing a better review... _ the floors were BLACKFOOT DIRTY after mere MINUTES of walking across the room! Ruined two pairs of socks. (Actually WASH the floors AND the balcony-walkway OUTSIDE and this wouldn't be a thing. Using a blower once a week doesn't count.) _ the railing alongside the balcony walkways is FULL of cigarette butts. A shop-vac can suck those up no problem. _ cigarette butts ALL over the rocks around the pool enclosure! More people throw their butts there because they SEE butts there... (Again, shop vac is your friend!) _ side-chair lacked a side/dining table, had to move the side-chair and use desk. I recommend a small breakfast nook table please. _ No phone in the room to call the front desk. Expedia's phone number on record for this hotel is out of service. Really poor form, phones in the rooms should have been done first, it's hotel 101. _ No "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room, even after I requested one through my Expedia booking, AND was assured there was one in every room. At least 4 rooms were checked when I checked-in and none had DND signs... (We did get one on day 2.) _ Lamp between beds is of poor design, cannot turn switch without holding it in place with your other hand, and there is only one plug but two people! Had to pull nightstand out and use plug behind it. Very inconvenient. Recommend upgrade for the two socket, fixed to the wall light. _ No hair dryer in the bathroom but a plate where it used to be. (Other 3star hotels have one.) _ The wifi was given to us as "Extended Stay of Altamonte" but was actually showing up as “ExtendedStayGuest,” and likewise shows up as an unsecured network, though a password is required in a pop-up to actually make use of the signal. (Password did not change during our stay and is a security risk longterm.) _ Shower handle is upside-down, hot is cold and cold is hot, and the water pressure is low. _ Of 3 lamps, 2 worked, ...seemed like a burnt bulb. _ A/C was at 76 temp, didn't work at first, lowered temp to 65 to get the A/C to kick on, then we could set it to 73. _ No spare Toilet Paper in the room on check-in. _ One of the bath towels had permanent marker "Lynn's" written on it, very unprofessional... _ both ottoman and bench had unknown STAINS upon them and didn't match the other furniture in the room. Go with NONE over unknown stains. _ when asking the front desk to add on a 6th day, was offered a higher rate than already paid. When asked why, was told "rates change daily..." but online it was being offered for less so, I did NOT book the extra night.
I didn’t complain during my stay because I was too busy with my work to handle the hassle of switching rooms that may or may not have the same issues, AND the hotel was very clear at booking, that anything we needed we had to go to the front desk to get. Also, the place is under re-construction from being "Extended Stay of Altamonte" to becoming "Opal...
Read moreI stayed here for a month during the summer month of July with my kids. While they are pretty affordable, you get what you pay for. Look at the other reviews just like I did and believe they are true. Upon checking in the elevator closest to my room wasn’t working and didn’t work the entire time which was super inconvenient. So we had to use the only working elevator farthest from us, which upon opening the door to the entrance way of the elevator it very heavily smelled like pee. We took our stuff up to our third floor room. The room is spacious. Not too clean tho. The floors and shower were dirty. There was someone else’s hair in the shower. There was dirt shoved in the corners of the room. A quick wipe down fixed that. There was a hole in the bathroom door like someone had punched a hole there. Kind of off putting but able to work with it. House keeping comes once a week if you’re there long term. On the Wednesday morning housekeeping came by and I told them that I was fine I didn’t need a cleaning, I just needed a few trash bags. She left and I thought that was that. Around noon that same day I had an appointment, which the cleaning lady was still on the same floor and she had watched me leave with my backpack. I got to my car and realized I had forgot my ID in my room so I had to go all the way back up there to get it. When I got there I “caught” the housekeeping lady with my room door open, which I asked her what is she doing?? She didn’t seem to speak good English and kind of stuttered “I was going to sweep” or something I couldn’t really understand. I stated to her that earlier when she had come by that I said that was all I needed, so I questioned her what exactly are you doing? And why are you waiting until I leave to come into my room? It didn’t make any sense at all to me. It seemed really shady to be honest and like she maybe didn’t have the best intentions? The whole situation didn’t sit right with me so I went to the front desk to talk to someone about it to try to understand the situation better. No one was available but I did talk to the front desk person who said that I could be put on the list of rooms of not to clean during the week on the cleaning days, which I opted in. After that things felt uncomfortable around the hotel personnel but this is my personal area for the month that I am sharing with my family and wanted some peace of mind that my belongings would be safe. The pool was really nice and big, the waterfall didn’t work the whole time we were there. It had a good shallow end and a nice deep end. There’s a McDonald’s and chick fil a right behind the hotel which are convenient to walk to. The hotel is just down the street from the mall and other food places and shopping areas and also close to the freeway which is also very convenient. The WiFi worked really well which was great for my son and his ps5. You can only sign up 3 devices for the free WiFi but if you need more devices you have to pay for it. The laundry room is not great at all. 3 Very old washers and 3 dryers that didn’t work well. I ended up taking my clothes to a nearby laundromat instead. Lastly there are roaches but only a few and not during the day. You can have them spray or whatever or buy ur own. I would probably stay again just bc they’re so...
Read moreI booked this room after reading all the horrible reviews but since I usually find places to be better than people's reviews portray I decided to go with it anyway. The check in area was beautiful and looked newly remodeled. That's where it ended, they must have spent every bit of money they had on that. The rooms were abhorrent. I took a shower minutes after getting to the room and after I got in, juvenile German cockroaches (the most invasive kind) started coming out from behind the shower faucet mount, 7 to be exact, while I was showering. I could tell the floors had not been cleaned because there were 3 squished roaches stuck to the bathroom floor already when I entered. I thought the baby roaches might just be in the shower so I tried to sleep there anyway and as I was getting into bed I saw 4 more roaches running out from under the bed and went under the other bed, and at the foot of the opposite bed was a roach egg sack. I had to leave my room and go get bug spray to put around the bed just so I could stay the night. When I checked out the next morning and showed the lady the pictures she handed me a little piece of paper with an email address and told me to email the pictures to the address. She made no apologies to me about the situation I drove home to NC that day and when I got home and started taking things out of my bag, a German cockroach ran out. So I have now brought their invasive roaches into my home in NC. I emailed the issue to the address I was given, they immediately responded (as they have every time during previous booking questions) and asked, "What room number was it, so we can make sure our pest control company takes care of the room. Also to see how the room was booked." I responded with the room number and never heard anything back from them. It's been 6 days. Suddenly not so quick to respond. I sent a follow up email 2 days ago as well. No response. No apology from this person either. I find this funny considering other reviews gave a bad review first Instead of contacting the hotel and the representative from the hotel claimed," they wish they would have told them so they could look into it and make it right". These people have no intentions of making anything right. If all I can do is post my review on every outlet I can find, then that's what I'm going to do. I also can't believe their response to reviews," that they pride themselves on cleanliness and take special care with the cleanliness of the hotel." If that was true you wouldn't have 2.5 stars and the majority of the reviews complaining about how disgusting the place is. Maybe the person writing their review responses does, but clearly the...
