After working a long shift with little food, my boyfriend and I came to Longhorn. We had been there a few times before and had always received good service and tasty food. When we came in, we were greeted by the hostess Kitana. She is always very pleasant, and seated us promptly with Kristen. Kristen soon proved to us that she would be the best server we ever had. We got water and bread fresh from the oven and ordered the cheddar stuffed mushrooms. Kristen made sure our drinks were never empty and delivered all of our food in a very timely manner so that we didn't have to wait long, while also not feeling rushed. For our entrees, I ordered the 6oz Renegade Steak with mashed potatoes topped with cheese and butter, while he ordered the LH Burger with a side of mac and cheese. We both ordered house salads as well, mine with many modifications. Kristen was spot on with each and every one, while also not making me feel bad for them. The salads hit the table right after we finished our appetizer. They were delicious as always, and we were very happy and enjoying our time. The entrees came out a few minutes after we finished our salads, and they were DELICIOUS. My steak was cooked perfectly, and his mac and cheese was creamy and fresh. Kristen made sure multiple times we were happy.
After we finished our meal, I asked for the manager (Latavia). Latavia was very kind and we could see she was very happy that we had enjoyed our time. She made us feel so welcomed and made us want to come again soon. We complimented Kristen and the food, and Latavia let us know that we were more than welcome back anytime, and to ask for Kristen.
Overall, this wasn't a 10/10 experience. This was easily a 15/10 experience. If you happen to want Longhorn like I always seem to, I couldn't recommend this location enough. When you go, ask Kitana how her day is (and compliment her makeup as it is fabulous). Ask for Kristen (you won't regret it), and speak to Latavia. Read moreMy meal was ruined by a manager's bad attitude! He turned a 4 star meal into a 2 star meal! My party ordered saute`d mushrooms and onions with our steaks. The steaks came, but no mushrooms! When I reminded the food deliverers they forgot our mushrooms, they said the would get them. After 10 minutes, staring at our food because we wanted our mushrooms, I asked where they were. My waitress said the manager would bring them. Another 10 minutes later, our food is starting to get cold, so I asked to see the manager. A few minutes later the manager shows up with 2 plates of raw onions with a couple mushroom pieces! When I asked what took so long, the manager looked at me and said "it takes a long time to cook mushrooms!" To which I replied, "I know, that's why I ordered them with my steak!" It was obvious the mushrooms were omitted from our order, but instead of owning up to their mistake, the manager tried to push it off on me, as if I didn't order the mushrooms with my meal! And it was obvious they just threw the mushrooms on the stove for a few seconds and didn't cook them properly. I thought about that for a few minutes and told the waitress I didn't need the manager's attitude! And that he ruined my meal. He showed up a few minutes later to apologize, but it was too late, my meal had already been ruined! I explained to the manager that I had grown up in food service and if my father had heard one of his managers speak to a customer the way he spoke to me, he would have been fired on the spot! Read moreI used to love this restaurant, but it has gone downhill. For our anniversary I took my spouse here for dinner on the day after Mother's Day. As soon as I walked into the restaurant it smelled like a nursing home. It was almost nauseating. Immediately went into the men's bathroom and that was disgusting as well. Walked to my table and noticed used straws, napkins, silverware on various parts of the floor. It was a little after 5pm when we arrived and it was far from busy.
I ordered steak and chicken. I like my steak cooked medium and it came to the table medium rare or simply rare. Not a big deal, mistakes happen so I kindly requested it be sent back. By this point the restaurant had gotten busy. We waited around an hour for our food but again, it was understandable because of what day it was (day after Mother's Day). Our waiter said that the kitchen was backed up because they didn't anticipate being so busy. Ummm....what?!
When I finally got my steak it was well done. I cut into it and it reminded me of shoe leather. Knowing I wanted it medium and wasn't eating it, the waiter suggested I take it home. No, thanks. Then he brings the check with the steak still on the bill. At this point I'm not shocked because the whole experience was bad. My spouse loved her meal and mine was okay, but there were so many other things wrong with the evening that the food quality didn't make up for it.
Got home and have been sick ever since. I won't go back.
Update: Actually got FOOD POISONING from this visit....
