Can I give it 3 1/2 stars?! Well, this was my first experience and unlike the other review contributors... I was not impressed. However, this restaurant was incredibly hospitable and eager to make it up to me. WARNING!!! Do not order the Ecstasy Salmon Roll!! Due to the combination of mayonnaise, wasabi sauce, and flakes... it becomes a mushy mess (yuck). I ordered this sushi to go and when I got home, I was sadly disappointed. And at the moment I'm not eating beef, pork and chicken... so, sushi and salad has become my staple. I reluctantly called the restaurant and explained my disappointment, Brice the waiter conferred with the Italian sushi cooks and explained that it's not a popular roll and was happy to make me a different roll. Anyway, I end up getting the Dynamite roll and it was much better... not great but better. Normally I would not go back to a restaurant after a bad first impression but it was partially my fault for not reading the ingredients all the way. A few tips to the restaurant: 1. Check price of sushi roll when guess call in to order food to go. Especially when the guess ask for it. 2. If you know a sushi roll isn't good, please provide other recommendations. 3. Instead soy sauce packets provide the small 'to go' plastic dipping sauce containers. 4. And lastly, provide paper menus for guess to take home... especially if you changed your site recently and the prices and/or menu options are not up to date. I'd go again because of the wonderful staff and the items on the menu...
Read moreWe have been here over 2 dozen times, and while service is a hit or miss, depending on the night and server, the food quality is quite good, the presentation decent, could use some work, the portions are adequate, the prices are not the greatest, especially since overall the experience is not worth the cost, compared to other sushi and Japanese restaurants locally. Compared to restaurants in other cities I have been to, which are quite a few, it falls somewhat to horribly short, especially when price comparison for what you get.
This last visit was horrible, was advised on the phone that our order would be ready in 30 mins, arrived to pick it up, and was made to wait around for another 30 mins with no real explanation, and the food was kind of disappointing; plus they increased their prices with no reason other than their costs went up amid the virus outbreak, which isn't really a reason that justified increased pricing when you are already overpriced for product. In the past I would have recommended this place, but now, I would advise anyone to go elsewhere, save some money, headache and likely disappointment. What a shame; luckily there are much better sushi restaurants in the Orlando area, and it is too bad to lose a previously loyal customer due to complete incompetent practices and greedy behavior.
UPDATE: they got our order wrong! This place is garbage now! I would never ever recommend this trash hole ever to anyone ever again....
Read moreThis place was my go-to spot for sushi for some many years. Quality and service have just become substandard in the these last few months. Our server recommended a special roll we have never tried before and it sounded amazing. When it came out and I took a bite, I realized that the whole roll was cold and the same temperature throughout. The server asked how we like her recommendation and I told her it tasted like it was made earlier in the day, and put in the fridge. So she takes it back and confirms with the chef that it was a takeout order made earlier in the day that never got picked up. Left in the fridge, and cold throughout the whole roll. The rest of the sushi tasted fine, but it was easy to tell when the rice is ice cold. Where's the integrity?
Response to owner: This information was given to me from your server as well as your sushi chef behind the bar. The fact that THEY apologized for the actions of a second chef and took it back proves their honesty. Rather than discredit your customers experience, talk to your employees and rectify the bad practice. This is a place to take feedback and help change for the betterment of our community. Why would I lie about a restaurant that I have been supporting for 15 years? I just want the standards to be where they were. Take a lesson in public relations. You had an opportunity to try and make things right, but you chose to accuse a long time...
