Aubergine Kitchen provides both uniqueness and satisfaction when it comes to quick Mediterranean cuisine. POSITIVES: First off, the decor is modern and inviting. The wait wasn't very long at all, and we went during a busy lunch hour. By the time our group had made it to the counter to pay for our food, it was all ready. Granted a lot of it is prepared at the counter, but even the pizzas that had to be flash-baked were ready. The selection of Mediterranean cuisine is astoundingly diverse. Choose a bowl, a salad, a pizza, a sandwich or pita wrap, or other incredible entrees and plates. There are plenty of vegetarian options as well. I had the Tri-Tip Madeira bowl, which has steamed carrots, sweet potatoes, large chunks of beef, and a base of kale and rice (I chose to do half turmeric rice and half almond wild rice). Both types of rice were well-cooked and complimented the dish well. The entree was topped with a very interesting spice of some sort, which I can only guess were whole coriander seeds. The cheesy bread that they serve on the side is amazing! It's very similar to the Brazilian pão de queijo that you'd find at other restaurants. I would love to go back and try the chicken coconut curry! NEGATIVES: the one thing that I noticed was that the portion size wasn't as big as I had hoped. Granted, the quality was good, and I was satisfied. But for the price I paid, I would've expected to at least have leftovers. PRICE: expect to pay $10-18 per person. RECOMMENDED: Tuscany chicken pizza, Tri-Tip Madeira, coconut chicken curry.

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while and I am glad I did! Menu was nice with plenty of options. Went with the spicy coconut curry with yellow rice. The meal was definitely good though the chicken was a little dry- believe it was cut, frozen, then heated. The curry itself was lacking a bit in moisture and flavor (no coconut, just a little spice) though better than what I make at home. The food came in a bowl so I could take it to go. That was enough for 2 meals at least! Good price and good helping. I liked thr variety of ingredients. Not amazing food but I do want to try other dishes that I think may be more to my liking. They don't have a soda fountain but instead serve their own juices and teas. About 5 in interestijg flavors. My blueberry pineapple juice was good but extremely light- not a lot of flavor overall. Think flavored water. Still freshing. This place was very clean. Only one person was working on food but it was slow so that was fine. Very nice staff and my order came with a cheese bite- basically brazilian bread. Fresh and delicious. Overall a good, clean, and friendly place. Will be back again to find something more to my liking.

I don’t go to Aubergine Kitchen very often. There’s not a lot of food they have on their menu I like, and when I find something they change it a few weeks later. I try to give them a chance every once in a while but then they always find a way to make it a bad experience. Whether it’s changing menus, raising prices, or reducing portions, I find it really hard to want to go back. Today for example, I went in and ordered to go. I ordered the Mac n Cheese and tri-tip plate, which I had tried a couple weeks ago to stay. The food was great, portion size was good, and despite how expensive it was I felt it was a fair price (about $18). Today however, the price ended up being $20, and not only did the food not taste as good as normal, but I got just a handful of steak and three broccoli sprouts, and the Mac n cheese was about 3/4 what i usually receive. There was also a hair in it. I really want to like Aubergine Kitchen, but it’s too expensive to be worth the price, and every time I go I always feel disappointed.

I wrote a negative review previously (below) and subsequently met with Elcio (Aubergine's owner) over lunch. He was very kind despite my less than flattering review. I've since been back multiple times and have had positive experiences with my orders. I'm tweaking my previous review. Why? Because if they had an issue it was a one-time blip that has not been repeated. The food has always been both delicious and great for you. My only frustration was not getting enough for the money and that has improved in all subsequent visits. 5 Stars if they continue to improve...

Previous: I've never written a negative review before but after my visit this evening I'm frustrated... Been going here regularly for 3 years. While I love the flavors and the health aspect of the food - everything else has regressed linearly, especially in the last year. Here's how:

  1. Shrinkflation: bowl servings have gotten noticeably smaller. Today for example I did a build your own bowl. TWO small pieces of broccoli, TWO small cauliflower, and TWO small Brussel sprouts! Come on - do addt'l veggies really cost that much?
  2. inflation: not only are bowls getting smaller and stingier with toppings but they are more expensive. The double whammy!

They have also changed the layout of the restaurant so that you cannot view/communicate with the person making your meal - you just give them the order and they decide to put in as few items as they like - EVEN if it is inexpensive veggies...

And to make matters worse - a less than half full dressing container! Way too dry as a result... It was the last straw for my shared almost $40 with my wife...

I've literally bought hundreds of meals at this restaurant but the next time we will choose another option.

Update: I've made two visits since this bad visit that were much better. Maybe a new employee that didn't know what they were doing prepared the meal which precipitated this original review. I'm going to order the same meal again in another visit and if I don't feel that they are stingy I'll remove...

It is hard for me to put into words how ardently in love I am with Aubergine. Yes, yes, I know other reviews have such claims. None are as valid as mine though. I would ask the employee's permission to marry their Nice Cream and take it straight to the alter if I could.

Seeing as I am still quite a young lass (a senior in Highschool) I sometimes think it is quite unresponsible of me to be blowing off the little money I have at Aubergine, and my finance teacher would share in my feelings of disapproval at my spending habits here (seeing as this restaurant it more pricey than the common Taco Bell or In and Out my peers so often partake in) All thoughts of doubt and regrets of financial decisions melt away as smoothly as the Twist Nice Cream with Strawberrys, Bananas, and Almond Butter melts on my tongue.

I used to always purchase the Avocado Toast. I was quite disappointed many moons ago, my sixteenth birthday, when I discovered the Avocado Toast recipe was altered. Little did I know that my apparent misfortune was a blessing in disguise. My friend ordered the Rio Bowl on that fateful day, and ever since I raised a portion of his food to my lips, I have coveted to the Rio Bowl with dedication not unlike the bond of the most loyal husband and wife.

Recommended sides include the sweet potatoes, cheese rolls, and OF COURSE the Nice Cream.

As for atmosphere, I completely approve of the color scheme and decor. I would get married in that restaurant, build my island table in that restaurant, rock my newborn child to sleep in that restaurant, and die with a cheese roll clutched in my fist upon my heart in that restaurant.

Blow your mula. Do it. It's worth it. (Plus my tummy feels quite contented and wonderful after. Your tum tum will thank you)

I hope this review entertained and informed your brain as much as Aubergine is sure to bless and soothe your taste buds.

Thank you, one and all

-Nice Cream's...

Dined in on a Friday at 7:30. I should have realized that the place was less busy than every other restaurant in the area and taken it as a sign, but I had wanted to try the place for months. Staff is RIDICULOUSLY unhelpful. It was actual insanity. No employees should be able to use the answer "I don't know" while unashamedly making direct eye contact while also not going to ask any other veteran staff members the answers. Besides the One-who-knows-nothing there were several Dont-look-at-me-i-just-work-heres and of course that's why I'm looking at you, they were entirely mute. Not one single word came out of their mouths when we approached them for anything. Hubby's food was done first and sat on the counter for 10 minutes before anyone approached the register to let us pay, so it was not even warm. Room temp. My food took 10 minutes. Other tables had number flags on them like staff had maybe brought their food to them, but I was not given one. Nor was I told a single instruction about how long my food would be or if I needed to wait for it. All the while staff wandered around and chatted each other up. The place was super dirty, every table disgusting. Every seat, the floor and in between. If this was a fast food restaurant I would have expected the carelessness of cleanliness but how does that not go hand in hand with "healthy cuisine". Im not even gonna address the menu since I've pretty much slammed this place enough, but healthy it might be, flavorful or well thought out, it isn't. Kale does not go in a chicken parm entree. This is coming from a Kale devotee. I waited a few weeks to make this review but I'm still so steamed about it when I think about the fact that I drove through 2 counties to eat at this place and the absolute...
