This pizza pie Café location is so much better than the Rexburg location. My wife and I came late at night to enjoy some pizza buffet but this time the pizza was tasting absolutely delicious. More than it ever has in Rexburg. The pizza tasted pretty fresh, considering it was a buffet. A few things that tasted like they had been sitting out for a while for example, there were these Oreo knot looking things and they looked delicious but then when we tasted them, they tasted stale and like they had been sitting out for a long time.
The pizzas that I would say are definite must: The combo pizza, Hawaiian pizza, the firefighter And my wife enjoyed the potato pizza. We were sad not to see the barbecue chicken pizza there this time as it’s one of my favorites.
One of the pizzas that we did not like is the buffalo wing pizza. To me it tasted like they had put panda express orange chicken sauce on the pizza and it just tasted weird.
For the dessert pizzas they have many options. They have the Oreo pizza, cookie dough, raspberry pizza, apple pizza, and a peach cobbler pizza. This time they even had a special of the Month pizza which was the s’mores pizza. It was delicious. Best dessert, pizza that we’ve ever had at Pizza pie Café. Dare I say best dessert pizza I’ve ever had.
If you ever get tired of pizza, they also offer a salad bar buffet as well as a pasta buffet. We did try a few of the pasta sauces. The best one was the carbonara, followed by the roasted red pepper, marinara, and Alfredo. The Alfredo just tasted kind of plain and boring. The pasta bar also has many different types of pasta, such as angel hair, fettuccine, wagon wheel, etc..
The salad bar is also another great option. They have different kinds of salad mixes such as spring mix and an iceberg mix. They have many different toppings, such as pepperoni, bacon, peppers, ham, egg, tomato, etc. They also have different dressing such as Italian ranch thousand Island, cottage cheese, etc..
Overall, if you have never been to pizza pie café or I’ve never been to this location I highly recommend checking it out. One of the best times to go is during lunch as the price is 10.49 for adult adults. Dinner is 11.59. This restaurant does offer special pricing for seniors and military. If you also are thinking about hosting a birthday party here they do have a private room...
Read moreI look for reasons to give 5 stars, as you can see i didn't find them. We have come here for dinner 4 or 5 times. With the exception of 1 time they have run out of pizza, forks, plates and salad bar items. This is not a very well run restaurant. Because of them not keeping the "all you can eat" full, we only come here when we have hours to waste waiting for someone to do their "JOB"
The staff was friendly, but not very organized and had a distinct lack of priorities. They were cleaning tables when there was NO desert pizzas and there was only 6 slices of pizza left and people were standing around waiting. I didn't see any sign of the manager, having managed a couple restaurants in my life, I would never have been anywhere except out helping if my restaurant was in that situation. This place has so much potential, but obviously has a bad manager.
We love the concept and the food is good when you can get some. If pasta is the only thing you want, you should be ok, but if you want pizza without waiting a long time in a long line, that isn't moving because there isn't any pizza on the pizza bar or salad on the salad bar, this place isn't for you.
I wish I could say this was just an off night, but after 4 or 5 visits being the same, it's their business model. I guess they figure that if they will run out of food, they can save when you leave discouraged, or so it seems to me.
If you are done eating before 4pm, it doesn't seem as bad. Once the dinner rush starts the wheels fall of here.
Hey, might I suggest that by 4 to 430 you start throwing pizzas in to get ready for the dinner rush. Throwing away a few pizzas would be better than throwing away the trust of the 100's of customers that have changed their minds about eating here...
Just a thought.
I hope your experience...
Read moreThis was not a good experience. Our family will not be back. My son brought home a coupon for a free kids meal so we thought we would try it out. We got there at 4:45 on a Saturday night. It was already jam packed with a line out the door. I wanted to pay with cash but the cashier said she didn't have any pennies. Don't worry, someone went out to get some and should hopefully be back soon. So, there are no pennies in the restaurant? Forget it, just keep the change. There were no clean tables and when we were able to get someones attention and ask them to clean a table for us we were told, "oh, we don't clean off tables until 6:30. We don't have a busser until then" Say what? We did get a table cleaned off for us. There was hardly any pizza available. I always had to wait at least 10-15 minutes and hope I can grab a slice when they bring out one pizza for the 15 people waiting. They were terrible at keeping up with demand. They would bring out 2 Firefighter pizzas when there was already a mostly full tray and a line of people waiting for break sticks. The 2 things I was most excited about, garlic knots and the sugar cookie pizza of the month, I never even saw those. There were plaques for them but I never saw them bring any out so I was pretty bummed. The pasta was overcooked and nasty. They were out of the Alfredo sauce ... the only one I like. The salad bar is just a typical salad bar, hard to screw that up. I was surprised they didn't have carrots on the bar, the only veggie I really like so I ended up with just a spinach and lettuce salad - not so fantastic. Sub-par pizza that's not worth the price you pay for an entire family of 6 to eat. Take my advice, order a $5 pizza...
