I walk in the door at 4:30 AM in the morning to grab an early morning snack, because I'm presently staying at a motel nearby. I try to place an order for a breakfast sandwich. The Asian guy behind the counter says to me that they don't serve breakfast sandwiches at that time. I ask him when they do, I actually had to ask. He says 6:00 in the morning. But they advertise themselves as being open 24 hours, and breakfast sandwiches are the only thing I eat from these 24 hour doughnut shops. The way I see it, that equals false advertising from this place, as well as poor customer service. In all fairness, the Asian guy behind the counter was polite, not rude at all. That is THE ONLY REASON THIS PLACE GETS TWO STARS, INSTEAD OF ONE STAR. They just didn't have what it was I wanted at that time of the mourning. Poor customer service. Oh, and I am a local, inspite of me being in a motel at present, so I know what's good and what's not. There's another 24 hour doughnut shop up Beach Blvd. on Beach and Orangethrope Ave, on Beach just north of Orangethrope Ave. "Doughnut Express" is the name of it. They will serve you a sandwich anytime, 24 hours a day. No false advertising, much better customer service. My advice, go there instead. If you have a car and are driving, and not a pedestrian walking up the street, then really, you have no excuse not to. And yes, Glee Doughnuts on Beach and Ball Rd. is better than B & B Doughnuts, they are better than most doughnut shops anywhere, in terms of food quality. They just aren't open 24 hours, so not as convenient, that's all. For late night, go to Doughnut Express instead. You all take care...
Read moreI never post reviews on any business. But in this case, I felt I had the need to. I never had such old, nasty donuts in my life. I’m reading the reviews and I’m confused. Where are all these positive reviews coming from? 1st of all, I walk in, theirs homeless people inside plus it smells like pee! Some hanging out outside. Sketchy environment. Then I’m standing looking at the donuts. And they all look old! None look appetizing, but hey I didn’t want to judge by the looks of it since theirs nothing but positive reviews so I thought, “hey they might just look like that and taste good”. FALSE! Absolutely the worst donuts I ever tasted. I’m driving home mad, forcing myself to eat them since I don’t want to waste them. I just couldn’t, the texture, and flavor were not there. I had to throw them away as soon as I got home. We have street cats in my apartment complex that eat anything. Keep in mind, I hate those cats. But I felt absolutely terrible to give them those donuts as I was afraid they were gonna get mad and throw them back at me the following morning as they taste horrible! These all must be paid reviews cause no way they deserve even a 2 star. I highly recommend to go...
Read moreI've been coming here for almost a year, and the vast majority of the time, the donuts are fresh and have a great selection. A couple of times, the apple fritter or French crullers haven't been as fresh as they might look, otherwise, better freshness than many of the local donut shops in the area.
Customer service was generally good until what I witnessed this morning. Admittedly, like other reviews complain, there are issues with the homeless population. Managment/owners are taking a harsher stance to the homeless coming inside, which today was extreme. The manager/owner physically was pushing a homeless person out of the shop and then shoved them down on the ground, and refused to allow the person to get a bag that they had dropped in the store. Physically assaulting anyone is taking it too far.
For those complaining about the homeless at the shop, this may give you a sense of safety, an owner does not need to become physical like this, so I am less likely to be a patron this business...
