This review is based on a stay from March 2015, but I couldn't get it to go any further back.||||Part of it was the fault of my sales team and I, but the innkeeper was still rude and very unprofessional. We had a convention nearby, with some teammates coming in from NorCal; we all had lots of last minute changes (some beyond our control).||||Anyway, I genuinely booked the room for myself, but the innkeeper unnecessarily pried 5 times while checking in if I was staying by myself (I have a spinal injury and a workers' comp case pending the day after, and intended to use the 2nd bed for sorting papers while killing time since I was the only one that was local), then I was put into a room near the front desk seemingly on purpose.||||Afterwards, my teammate's credit card was declined when he reached his hotel and they refused to let him check in (found out later it was a security feature that could've been resolved with a simple phone call), so I offered to let them in to research solutions. Before I could even turn on my laptop (not even 5 minutes), the innkeeper called saying "a customer claims we're making too much noise" and demands them to leave, when we were barely above a whisper since someone was snoozing after driving 8 hours straight.||||Since it would've been easier to just I proposed to pay an overage and have them stay as guests; the innkeeper initially refused, and I had to almost squeeze how much the fee was out of them. Since we decided we're already there and the overage fee was only 1/4 the charge of their room, we decided to pay it and stay.||||However, the innkeeper insisted on starting a 5 minute argument and even tried to have us unnecessarily switch from one 2-bed room to another 2-bed room for some odd reason, when I was already settled in and had paperwork scattered all over the beds (which I even brought up to her).||||One hilarity though: Their room key card was a reused one... Read moreMotel moonlight is accessible from South Beach Blvd. The entrance is on the right when heading south on the street, you cannot access it when travel north without a u-turn. The sign is very visible from the street. There are parking spaces infront of the rooms with additional ones in the back. It located about 10 minutes from the Disneyland resort. When entering the room there was a musky smell with a slight hint smoke, though the room itself was non-smoking. The carpet looks fairly new. The room looks like most of the pictures you find online. You'll find a desk, dresser, mini-fridge and microwave. Our particular bed was very springy, not the most comfortable thing but was fine for the few nights. The fridge was clean but the microwave had some discoloring and potential food on the top, we did not investigate further. You should fine an ironing board and iron though our room was missing the iron. The included blower dryer was basically unusable, it was missing the back cap and failed to produce reasonably hot air. Be careful with the supplied soaps and shampoo, the hand soap may leave your skin with a very dry feeling, I cannot say how the shampoo/condition was as we did not use it. The AC unit worked but had visible wear on the top. The filter is just a metal mesh, it appeared to be cleaned but the inside of the unit was very dirty. I'd suggest not using it. The bathroom fan has visible build up on it and doesn't not look like it's been recently cleaned. The shower head has lots of calcification built up. The toilet looks fairly new. Though this motel is located in a touristy area you'll find no information in the room about the area. Becareful to not change the input on the TV as this will make it unusable. Changing the input back to the correct one is not straight forward. The management was very nice and worked with us when we...
Read moreI'm not comparing this motel/inn to a Hilton or the Disney Grand Californian. For the money you got a basic good value including a comfy/clean bed with enough pillows, a working air-conditioner, a flat screen tv, free wifi, a clean/basic bathroom with a show/tub combo, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a small pool. The pool lacked ambiance as it was surrounded by an iron bar/gate across from the parking area, but it was still a way to cool off on a hot day. After all, we weren't staying in the room for long. We planned to be at the park all day until it closed. We just needed an inexpensive, quiet place to sleep and it was quiet. This motel works best if you have a car and you will need to drive to the park as it's not really within walking distance and there are no more free shuttles offered by Disney to the local hotels. If you are planning a spur of the minute trip like we did and all the normal haunts are booked or way too expensive, this is a good alternative. The family running the place is nice and they made us feel welcome at check-in and greeted us each day with a warm smile and a friendly exchange. Give it a try but don't expect anything fancy or you will be...
