The negativity started the second we walked in. Very loud and disorganized and the “hostess” yelled out Welcome as if we were two football fields away vs 8-10 feet.
We were seated at a table that was adjacent to the main pathway for the staff which was poorly placed in the middle of the dining table floor space. Our waitress took forever to come over and her appearance was very unprofessional when she did with her face peppered with piercings in her nose and lips. She didn’t know how to operate her hand held ordering gadget. Asked us 3x what we wanted to drink because she couldn’t retain us saying two waters. Took 10 minutes for us to get our waters after several other staff stopped and asked if we were already helped. When she did bring our water I asked her what a specific food item picture was on the menu and she said she had no idea. Asked another waitress to come over and she didn’t know. Third waitress responded with I think it’s our fried chicken plate. It was. Order was placed and took another 10 minutes of sitting there with empty waters before Ms Piercing came back and asked me again what I wanted for my two sides. Another 10 minutes and my plate was brought but not my girlfriend’s. We thought she was returning to the kitchen window to retrieve her eggs Benedict but wrong. After sitting for 5 minutes watching her it became apparent she wasn’t bringing my gf’s food. I asked another waitress where her food was. She went and checked and came back and apologized that her eggs Benedict meal was never ordered. So I sat there with my food getting cold waiting for my gf’s food to arrive which took another 15 minutes. When her eggs Benedict was finally brought the waitress said we had an accident in the kitchen and they dropped 1/2 of your order and that the other 1/2 would be brought out as soon as possible. Soooo, she and I started to finally eat. My chicken plate was cold, hers was good but only 1/2 the order. Ms Piercing finally brought her other 1/2 of order to the table and said she hoped we were enjoying everything.
Lolololol Hahahahaha

Read moreMy friends and I were able to participate in the soft opening/training of this new location today. Our server, Angie, was a delight. So friendly, helpful, knowledgeable on menu and had other staff assist when we stumped her with a question. Food was delicious. The table ordered the 2 egg breakfast that came with 2 eggs, meat, side, 1 slice of toast(large thick slice) and 2 pancakes. A waffle was mistakenly brought out and we kept both. The waffle was spectacular so crispy and great flavor. Also ordered were the Kahuna burger, recommended by Angie, which was a large burger with grilled pineapple, pulled BBQ pork, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and pineapple aioli. It was enough for 2 or one very large appetite. I would love to see a Teriyaki burger as a special in the future with cheese, teriyaki sauce and that grilled pineapple offered as a burger or a chicken sandwich. I ordered the Teriyaki steak bowl, the steak was so tender and the rest was fresh and delicious. The teriyaki sauce was good but a bit sweet so I’m glad it was just on the meat with more offered on the side. I will be back and I will ask for Angie again. Managing partner, Justin Sheffield, checked on us and was beyond friendly. Staff here were all on their game. Now we will see if it will continue this way. In my opinion, it will. Thank you for the adult drink beverages, mimosa flight was a great way to test your favorite. Mine was the strawberry lemonade. Ohhhh and the fresh made strawberry butter…heavenly. Thank you Angie and all Metro diner staff for an enjoyable and...

Original Review (1st visit): Met a nice patron outside who recommended not getting a burger due to his being undercooked so I decided to get pancakes…which were undercooked 🤣 anyways our waitress was super friendly and brought me some new ones which were cooked properly. The only issue I had with them is the bottom one tasted like everyone else’s burger or steak. As someone who regularly cooks on a flat top this tells me the griddle wasn’t scraped / cleaned between dishes properly. Which literally only requires water + scraper and takes all of 15 seconds to do a huge area. Also for a $4 side of home fries I guess I expected a little more than what appears to be smaller than a hash brown at McDonalds worth of potatoes.
Now for the good! The flavor on the pancakes (toppings) were fresh and delicious and servings huge. And the waffles are your typical waffle maker Belgian but tasted good as well. The fruit was fresh and the sweet tea was definitely made in house. The restaurant was clean and service super friendly. Will give this location another try because of all these reasons but I will probably try a dinner entree so I don’t taste...
