My daughter and I stopped in today a little after noon and much of the case was wiped out. My daughter saw one last strawberry yeast donut and knew that was the one for her! The young man behind the counter was helping us and I told him he could go ahead and bag up some donut holes while I figured out exactly how many donuts we would get. A lady came in behind us and was looking at the case when my daughter repeated multiple times she wanted the pink donut and I assured her I would get her one and we would get a few others to take home too. As I placed my order for the strawberry donut, a couple bacon maple donuts and cinnamon sugar donuts, the lady who had come in behind us got another employee to swoop in and grab the last strawberry donut before the employee helping us could box it up. When the lady heard the employee helping us tell me and my daughter the last strawberry donut was taken by the other customer she gave an insincere “sorry” refused to look us in the face, and scurried out with her box. I was shocked she intentionally skipped the line to steal a donut from a small child, I know she heard my daughter repeatedly ask for it and me tell her we would get it. It’s just a donut, not the end of the world, but it crushed my daughter. The sweet man helping us said if we could wait for another batch to be made he would get a strawberry donut for my daughter, his treat. We thanked him but told him not to worry about it, we would come back another day. I was touched that this young man who doesn’t know my daughter and didn’t owe us anything wanted to make up for someone else’s unkindness. What a gem of an employee! I hope the owner sees this post and congratulates his team member for excellent service, and more importantly, having...
Read moreAfter hearing about a Baker's Dozen, I had to give them a try. I was in line on a Sunday by 7:30am thinking that was early enough. There was already a line of about 9 people patiently waiting in the store. There was one lady taking the orders and packaging up all the donut goodies. The shop is very simple and no frills. Trays of freshly made donuts , pricing signage and plain white cardboard boxes with the name of the business stamped on them. I heard about the famous apple fritters however they were already gone. I opted for 6 donuts and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was actually my favorite! They serve classic yeast donuts with glazed toppings, chocolate, sprinkles etc and also cake donuts. The twists also looked really good. Some people got donut holes and the line moved quickly. I haven't been to any other Baker's Dozen locations so can't compare however these are very tasty donuts and can see why people wait patiently in line for these boxes...
Read moreThe donut holes are perfection! On the sliding scale of Dunkin' to Krispy Creme it definitely is closer to Krispy Creme in sweetness, but without being too sickly. Personally, I think that donuts are fine - very basic nothing special - slight artificial taste. Better than both Dunkin' and Krispy Creme though. I wish they had more cake donuts that were not drenched in a glaze or specially crafted donuts - but that isn't their niche so I respect it. The donut holes are perfect and it's pretty much the only thing I get!
This location is a grab and go - no seating. A few bottle drinks but otherwise it's a pick your donuts and leave situation.
The staff is consistent and a vibe, but not overly friendly - think like that old diner you visit and it's always the same people but they aren't particularly warm but there is comfort in the sameness of them. Works for their location.
You can't beat the price! Very competitive pricing! Especially for the...
