Mezeh continues to add locations in the Triangle with the latest in Apex at the junction of 64 and 55. This location just opened on 8/26 with friendly staff and fresh food.
This is a "build you own bowl" type of place with one of more base (greens, spinach, rice, cauliflower rice), protean (chicken, lamb, falafel, steak) and a TON of toppings to choose from, the most I've seen of any place like it. You can also get it in a pita or wrap.
The best thing is the food is fresh AND tasty -- full of flavors from that part of the world.
The hardest part is to choose which toppings, sauces, and hummus you want, given all the choices you have. Not sure if there is a limit on the number but it's higher than the number of toppings I asked for (around 10).
Check out the eggplant topping - excellent! The roasted chickpea is also very good and adds a nice crunchy texture to it.
The décor is inviting, and very nicely themed. The price is on par with other restaurants of this type but the food and the selection is much better.
The portion size is generous. Many will be able to get a meal and half or two meals out of one bowl order.
We ate there on opening day and was told the outdoor seating area will be installed shortly (within a few days) so by the time you read this, it's probably done.
This is a great addition to the Apex / Cary / Morrisville area. We now have two of them -- one here in Apex and another one at the Wegmans plaza on Davis Drive just over the Cary border in Morrisville. Both are...
Read moreFood was pretty good but not great, the pita bread wasn’t fully cooked. There are no menus in the restaurant anywhere. When you get to the spot where you order there’s a QR code for the menu. The QR takes you to a build your own page with NO prices or descriptions of you’re not familiar with all of the Mediterranean items on the menu. I consider myself to be very technologically savvy & able to figure things out quickly but their menu & ordering process was confusing, especially for first time guests. It’s like they assume everyone walking in has been there before & is very familiar with all Mediterranean foods. I didn’t feel like it was a good value considering it was $24 + tax for just 2 bowls at lunch with nothing else, especially since there are no prices anywhere. Had no idea that steak is a $3.00 up charge, again, no prices anywhere in the restaurant or on their website. Additionally, when I asked for cauliflower rice, I was told that they don’t have cauliflower rice, it’s been replaced with something similar. As I questioned the Manager about what it is, he explained that it’s made from Bulgur Wheat. I’m sorry Mezeh Manager (who appeared to be a teenager) Bulgur Wheat rice is NOT similar to cauliflower rice and it is NOT gluten or grain free which is a major reason many people chose...
Read moreI visited Mezah for the first time on February 3rd at 2:15, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. First off, the customer service wasn’t great. The staff didn’t seem very attentive, and the side options available to go in my bowl were surprisingly limited, especially when the place was empty. I used tap pay to complete my order, but I had no idea what was coming next.
As I was walking out to the parking lot, I received a strange charge on my credit card for $12,000. Thankfully, it was declined, but what followed was even more concerning. I got a call from someone claiming to be "Apple Support," asking if I had made the charge. Long story short, my phone was hacked, and I was scammed for nearly $800. The hackers even gained access to my phone. The process of trying to recover my information has been a complete nightmare.
I called Mezah immediately to inform them of what had happened, but there was no answer. I tried calling 2-5 more times throughout the week, hoping to get some kind of response or resolution, but I still haven’t received a call back.
The lack of communication from Mezah, combined with the issues I encountered, has left me frustrated and disillusioned with the experience. Be cautious if you visit—this situation was a real...
