I would usually never dine at an establishment with a score under 98 from the State Board of Health, but being close to my Husbands work, and the fact that we love gyros, we tried it anyway. I left horrified! No gloves on kitchen staff; filthy tables, floors, counters, drink area, restrooms, friends/family (nasty clothes & hair everywhere) coming in and going behind the counter handling food and everything in prep area (getting things for her and the other 10 people who came in with her), no hand washing whatsoever, counting and taking cash, which I imagine may be for a safe drop and then going right back to handling food... I actually plan on calling the Health Department because I'm not sure how this establishment even got a 94? Now for the food: we had gyro combos with french fries! Not bad tasting, at least the little I tasted before realizing how nasty it was in there. The lamb was pre-made/ frozen and not fresh, there were 3-4 lunch meat sized slices on a big pita that were about 1 & 1/2 wide, 4 inches long 🙄, 1/4 inch of shredded lettuce which was brown, the french fries were good but it's kind of hard to mess those up. Not a fan and...
Read moreI first visited this place years ago upon opening. What turned me off most was the excessive use of styrofoam. I tried the place again last week. AND THEY STILL SERVE DINE IN AND TAKE OUT ON STYROFOAM! (plastic utensils) While their food is good, their environmentally harmful practices give me pause about supporting this business. I don't doubt that the owners are lovely and I want them to succeed. BUT I feel strongly that we must all do our part to protect our environment. The tons of styrofoam that they are throwing out will sit in a landfill for the next 500 years! The dine in environment is also not ideal as it can get very smoky. It would seem that their exhaust system is not quite enough to support their kitchen. So, just a heads up, if we can all encourage them to make small changes, I think many would feel better about supporting...
Read moreThe only thing more surprising than the food is the fact that the health dept. hasn't shut this restaurant down yet. The service counter was covered in crumbs, the computer and phone stand were caked in crud, the clear glass dessert display was so filthy you couldn't see anything through it, the beverage dispensers were covered in splatter and dust from top to bottom, the white dropdown ceilings look like they were painted with used motor oil, and the children's high chair looked like it had been unearthed from a landfill and not even hosed off. I'm guessing the only thing in that place that's free of greasy fingerprints are any of the cleaning products. So it comes as no surprise that the legally required health inspection report is no...
