I used to go to Culver's at least once a week for lunch when I was dating, my date and I always had great service and enjoyed our meals inside during our shared lunch hour. The atmosphere inside has been inviting and the personnel kept it clean. I stopped after the two of us split up and I became disabled. It seemed too much of a hassle. During the pandemic I completely forgot they were there. I don’t know if they were open or not; having forgotten their existence. I got used to curbside delivery. Until recently I didn’t know how Culver’s handled their drive-thru. I remembered they were there one day when I took I decided to drive down the road they’re on for some other reason and saw them. I didn’t stop then, but remembered to a few days later. I then found out how well they handled the drive-thru experience, with multiple spots to wait for your food and stickers with your order number for those bringing out the food. I was impressed and wished I had remembered them sooner.
Their commercials always center around their hamburger, but they make a variety of sandwiches and food. When I would go for lunch my date had a burger while I ordered something else, like the Reuben. I ordered one of those tonight along with 2 orders of onion rings and a grilled chicken sandwich. I wish I hadn’t ordered the chicken sandwich. I didn’t realize they add pickles to it (Damn that chick filet place, they’ve ruined chicken sandwiches), because they ruined the taste. I tried eating it plain but the chicken was cold and tasteless, and the bread (sourdough I think) didn’t taste good either. The pickles ruined the taste of the tomatoes and lettuce.
I’m going to return here of course; they make a good pork tenderloin, and their chili sounds good. It’s been years since I had the fish, but that was good back then.. I can’t remember anything bad about the place.. the grilled chicken sandwich left a bad taste in my mouth. Good thing I had some onion rings left. While there is handicapped parking available I will continue to use the drive-thru, getting my walker out or hobbling in with my cane are too much of a hassle, especially with winter...
Read moreUsually pretty great food, a lot better than some other fast food joints for sure. I do sometimes find their regular food a little too greasy, but not by so much it turns me off from the food. This last time I opted to try some breaded fish instead of my usual burger, and I was not disappointed. It was true restaurant quality, and I couldn't have asked for a better meal. It was a little pricey, nearing the costs I'd pay at a regular restaurant, but everything is going up on cost these days.
Their ice cream and cold sweets though are definitely where it's really at for them. The food is just a bonus, but the dessert is what I always truly want when I go here. I almost always get the flavor of the day, and no matter what flavor it...
Read moreI used to work at a Culver's. They take a lot of pride in preparing each meal when it is ordered. The custard is much better than regular ice cream when it is fresh. If you have allergens, they will prepare some fresh custard straight from the custard machine so you don't get sick- just ask and they will.
I have celiac and my go to is freshly made chocolate custard with PB cups and marshmellow sauce- all gluten free. Many of their candy and sauce toppings are gluten free as well. If celiac/GF, stay clear of toppings with Graham cracker or crunchy elements and cake mix-ins (kit kat, twix, cheesecake, brownie, etc.)
Service is always friendly and tables are almost always clean. If you order coffee they are happy to brew...
