My family and I frequent this location. Picky eaters that always want something different are all able to find something they like here. So it's a place we go probably twice a month. It varies with how busy it can be and the staff usually does an okay to pretty good job handling a long line. We went tonight and they were short handed. There were only three people and one of them seemed new and was only staying at one station. We waited for probably 15/20 minutes to get our sandwiches. But I have to say, the staff was amazing. They were respectful, personable and were hustling without letting the line adgitate them. They recognized people when they came in, communicated to the people in line that they would be with them as soon as they could and thanked us for waiting repeatedly. I'm from the hospitality and food and beverage industry, having staff like that is a game changer. They could have had a bad attitude about being short handed and extremely busy and it would have effected every single one of the customers in the shop. My family and I would have probably skipped it and gone somewhere else. But your staff made this on of the best visits. I didn't catch their names, but please make sure you recognize the three that were working tonight. They...
Read moreI decided to try a new sandwich place today and I was not disappointed. Jersey Mike's cuts your meat right in front of you from their own deli counter. They have hot subs and cold subs. I had the Sub Club with turkey, ham, provolone, bacon and mayo on a whole wheat wrap. I went all the way and had it done "Mike's Way" which meant adding lettuce, tomato, onion (none for me), oil, vinegar and seasonings (oregano?). It was delicious. If you don't want it Mike's Way, you can just add whatever veggies you want (like Subway). They have 3 sandwich sizes -- mini, regular and giant. The regular size was fine for each of us. (The website says a regular feeds 2, but I don't think so.) My husband got a regular Mike's Philly. It was prepared fresh on the grill while we waited (but not long). He opted for no veggies since they were already cooked in with the meat. We both enjoyed our sandwiches. They were very tasty. And the staff member who took our order was having fun and teasing everyone in line. Many of the employees were middle-aged, which was nice for a change. I will have to try some other meats next time. For instance, what is cappacuolo (in the Jersey Shore's Favorite)?...
Read moreI started going to Jersey Mike’s Burnsville location. I hadn’t heard of them prior. My experiences have all been positive. I then found a new location in Savage and went there mostly because of the advertising with Danny Devito (though I thought his commercials were silly). In his commercials he talked about “the juice,” which I knew nothing about. I ordered a cold sandwich and had it done “Mike’s Way” which included this “juice.” I fell in love with it and have returned several times. I found out what the “juice” was and tried to have a competitor make it, because JM’s subs are more expensive. Well, I don’t know what the spices Mike’s Way uses.. but Jersey Mike’s uses white onions, the competition uses red onions which gave a much different taste. Looking around online I found out that Apple Valley has a location too. It’s much closer to me, so I decided to visit it. The people working gave me fantastic service. The prices were higher, but I figure the savings in gas make up for that. There’s nothing like the Jersey Mike’s sub. It’s my new drug....
