This review is long overdue! Man, this place is heaven sent. Me and my partner come here all the time. It all started during "Hurraearthquake Hilary". We were at home bored and I started itching for a baked treat. (I have a sweet tooth) But, Ashlee also knows how much I LOVE coffee and she suggested how about a coffee/ bakery spot called Goki. I said "Well, what do they have?" She showed me the photos and we threw on our sweats and got in my car. We were surprised the shop was open with all the rain and earthquake drama; but talk about impeccable dedication to serve the community! Am I right?! After making the swim here, the first thing that caught my ear was the music. I love a great acoustic guitar. It was a cover of Adele's "Someone like you". The guitar combined with the sweet aromas of freshly ground coffee beans really triggered my endorphins to go crazy. I'm happy to tell you all that, though I am typically a coffee drinker, I have been converted to Matcha. I know, I know, just hear me out! I get a dirty matcha if that makes my coffee drinkers feel any better! But, when I say the coffee is real. The ingredients are fresh and the matcha doesn't taste like freshly cut grass from the alley in the back; I am telling you, this is deliciously FRESH! The coffee is from Oaxaca so it's Arnold Schwarzenegger strong! Andres wife, makes all the pastry's in the back. This place is no joke, hands down one of the best coffee shops I've ever had the pleasure, experiencing life at. The Flan is creamy and sweat. The Avocado toast is perfect. I'm never disappointed coming here. I HIGHLY...
Read moreGoki CafĂ© is a new cute corner family owned Mexican cafe in Arcadia located on a small plaza. Itâs name means âroyal or nobleâ en Zapoteco. They offer traditional sandwiches such as mole torta con pollo. Similarly, they have baked goods, coffee, lattes, teas, juices & shakes. Interior atmosphere was very welcoming and chill. Itâs interior design was well conceived and spacious. Furthermore, it was clean, neat, well lit and organized. I came here as a first time customer to have breakfast. I ordered their Turkey ham y panela and reg drip coffee. Turkey sandwich (romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and white dressing) was tasty and delicious. It came with sliced jalapeños and mini cracker sticks on the side. Coffee was good and perfectly brewed that was served in a classy translucent mug. Staff were amiable, attentive and professional. Furthermore, they were wearing gloves and mask. Service was moderately fast. Free WiFi and power outlets available for your laptops or electronic device. Prices were fair, affordable and competitive. This cafe has so much potential in becoming a successful business. Overall, I had a good dine in experience and good breakfast. I highly...
Read moreGoki Cafe is located right across the Arcadia Gold Line Station and LA Fitness. They have a small lot to accommodate customers but if they are full, there is plenty of street parking!
Their menu consists of a variety of drinks, from tea to coffee and smoothies! They have specialty beverages, and a unique Oaxaca chocolate drink that you can order hot or cold depending on the season! I enjoy the smoothies, though depending on who makes them, it can be too icy and not fruity enough so be sure to try it while you're there. I recommend the Strawberry Banana Smoothie, or a B.Y.O (Build Your Own) if you're feeling frisky. They also have sandwiches if you need a quick pick me up for lunch.
Everyone at the cafe is also very friendly, they occasionally have seasonal items for purchase. On one of my visits, they gave us all snowflake waffle that is supposed to be eaten on new years day! Traditionally served in a clay pot where you can throw once finished!
Fun cafe to visit, will come back soon to try out their desserts. The cakes have been calling my name for...
