Good, but not great.
Been going to Beau Jo’s since I was a teenager. I remember it really being a treat going to the original location in Idaho Springs. First time I went was with a group of kids and parents after a football game my freshman year.
So I was totally excited when they opened the location in Arvada what feels like 15 years ago. I was noticing yesterday as I was eating that the dough has changed. Ever so slightly.
Totally recall those days when the Pies were made by hand. This meant that the sides of the pies had an extra special touch to them. Plus I clearly remember the dough having more flavor. A very memorable tastiness and the sweetness of real wheat, dough that was made fresh that day or week.
Now though the dough is made in a factory for distribution to a chain of restaurants. And you can tell also by the holes placed in the dough for faster, and more consistent cooking. That’s great and all, but I do miss the days where it was made in-house by a person that was passionate about their creation.
I’ll still come to Beau Jo’s, but it does not really feel like a treat as much as it used to actually be a real treat.
Thankfully the ingredients are still of quality. Not recalling anything special about the sauce. Thankfully it doesn’t taste like mass produced canned nastiness. If that day comes, I think the chain should re-evaluate what they are actually passionate about!
Keep with the good ingredients folks.
Nostalgia is odd. But I do remember the days of hand made pies. The taste difference would literally blow your minds!
P.S. DO NOT eat the nachos here!! The nachos are disgusting and sad. Pizza joints should not be serving Nachos. Unless y’all want to put some kind of a twist of the idea with...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Beau Jo's Pizza, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and friendly smile of our server, Maddie, who set the tone for an incredible evening.
The star of the show, of course, was the pizza. Beau Jo's Pizza lived up to its name and then some. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully fluffy on the inside, providing the ideal canvas for the mouthwatering toppings. We opted for the 4 cheese pizza, and the freshness of the dough with the honey baked in, the creaminess of the mozzarella, and the heaping lumps of cream cheese combined in a harmonious symphony of flavors. Every bite was a sheer delight, and it was evident that the ingredients were of the highest quality.
Maddie, our server, played a significant role in making our dining experience exceptional. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and her recommendations were spot on. Her friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for the food made us feel right at home. Maddie's impeccable service ensured that we had everything we needed, from drink refills to timely delivery of our delicious pizza.
The atmosphere at Beau Jo's Pizza was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The combination of delectable pizza and exceptional service by Maddie made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend visiting Beau Jo's Pizza and requesting Maddie as your server. Read moreAnother 1st time for me and my son.....can you believe I am a native and NEVER knew we had Colorado style 🍕??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It's true so we tried it...we built our own with pepperoni, sausage, bell pepper, onion and black olives....yes I know not very risky...when you grow up eating delivery, you go with what you have been taught. I had to order side house 🥗 with Italian dressing. I WAS SHOCKED....THE ITALIAN DRESSING WAS THE BEST. I asked if they made it, sad to say no. But there is no way to get it unless you buy restaurant gallons, 4 at a time. I would love to make my pasta salad and many other things. Will have to settle for going in and ordering again. Now let's talk about the 🍕!!!! I ordered a medium which came 8 slices. Our jaws dropped when our mind blowing 🍕 arrived!!!! It was huge!!!!! The crust on bottom held strong with our toppings which was amazing. It was about 3/4 inches piled with gooey 🧀. We had to try the honey on our crust. I don't know who came up with this style pizza, but it is absolutely impossible to enjoy any other pizza now trying Beau Jo's!!!! The combination of the savory toppings in between the crispy twisted crust and the honey was a explosion of flavors!!!! As you can see we cleaned our plates and still had half of a 🍕 left!!!. We warmed up oven next day for breakfast....and yes we had 🍕...still delicious!!!! BEAU JO'S IS MY FAVORITE PLACE FOR PIZZA.....EVERYONE NEEDS TO GIVE IT A TRY......TRUST ME YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED OR LEAVE...
