Low Dive in Asbury Park is an absolute disgrace in how they treat customers- specifically the security. This past Friday night, a group of 20 of us, all 22 or 23 years old, arrived around 11 PM. The bouncer immediately denied us without even checking everyone’s IDs. He took the first PA license, claimed he “couldn’t see the UV,” then rejected three more IDs, including a VALID PASSPORT, before telling all of us to leave and refusing to even look at IDs from New Jersey or New York. He was rude, dismissive, and refused to let us speak to a manager. This isn’t even the first time. Last summer, when we were all 21, we were denied entry again without reason. That time, the excuse was simply that the bouncer “didn’t like our IDs.” This is clearly a pattern of arbitrary decisions, abuse of authority, and power-tripping behavior from staff. Every single one of us is of legal age, and we’ve been let in here before, including just last weekend. The fact that they continue to humiliate paying customers with valid IDs while showing no accountability or professionalism is appalling. We went to other nearby bars that same night with zero issues, proving the problem is unique to Low Dive. Low Dive is unprofessional, disrespectful, and a stain on Asbury Park’s nightlife. Read moreThis place used to have a super cool vibe with chill bartenders that were personable and fun. Now they play bad pop music and the bartender just stands there and stares at you. When you’re done with your drink she doesn’t offer a refill nor does she offer good vibes or conversation lol I would’ve bought plenty more had she just asked. Uncomfortable seats that are painful. I used to clock many hours here, but there are too many good places with cool employees to go that beat this place now. Food is overpriced and not great. I’d easily go down Kingsley to that place that rhymes with Rim’s for cheap food food and great bartenders over this place any day and that’s saying a lot for me… this place is clearly poorly managed. Bring back the old...
