Me and my wife were in Asheboro yesterday for our very first time. We decided to get some dinner but noticed it was getting late, we did some googling and found that Pizza Inn was about to close in an hour at 9 pm, and we thought to ourselves that the food would be getting old and that they wouldn't be making any more fresh pies. We decided to go somewhere else, which Google Maps showed us closing at 10 pm. We left that place as soon as we arrived because the staff decided to close the restaurant 2 hours early because it was slowing down. Well, that left us very disappointed and even more hungry. I looked at my wife and said, " The heck with it, we'll go to Pizza Inn!" We got there exactly at 8:23pm. Upon arrival, we could see that the restaurant was almost empty, I am thinking to myself that they must be bare bones naked of any pies. I walked into Pizza Inn with my wife and was absolutely shocked! The place was a bright, clean, and colorful atmosphere. There were 3 couples seated and eating. I glanced over at the pizza bar real quick and BOOM!!!!! I said to myself No Way!!!! The salad bar was full, and so was the bar of pizza!!! There was no way that they still had fresh pizza out, I was in disbelief! We were greeted warmly by the hostess and kindly passed over to our waitress, who we are happy and excited to have again for next time, and that amazing waitress is Kinsley!!!!! After being seated, Kinsley asks for our drink preference and immediately goes to get them. I leave to wash my hands, and YES, the bathrooms were very clean!! I come back to the table, and my wife says we can go grab some food. I went to the bar, and my eyes jumped for joy as I looked at the pies and could see they were not old and still fresh!!!! I couldn't help but smile! After a few slices, I finished off with a plate of spaghetti with sauce, and yes, I was impressed with the flavor of the sauce and the freshness of the pasta. What made our dinner amazing and memorable was that Pizza Inn didn't do what most places do about an hour before they close, and that is, stop making fresh food! On top of all that, our waitress always made sure our drinks were full and checked if our experience was always to our satisfaction! Way To Go, Kinsley!!!!!!!!! The lovely lady that met me at the checkout counter who I spoke with about our disappointed experience with the other restaurant closing 2 hours early was amazing! She was so polite and welcoming! I want to thank the whole staff at Pizza Inn for their excellent customer service!!! I highly recommend this place to ANYONE who wants to enjoy a good fresh pie, an awesome atmosphere, and amazing staff that makes you feel right at home!!!! We WILL be coming back with the kids in tow next time!!! Oh, and did I say how amazing the price was?!?!?!?! Till...
Read moreWORST PIZZA PLACE IN ASHEBORO!!!! I would give zero stars if it were possible to. My 1st & definitely will be my only experience with this place: (Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 @6:30pm)
●30+ minute wait time to get seated ●Parking lot was a mess~trash all over, cars can't move around easily, people waiting all over parking lot & on sidewalks. ●They allow people to block both doorways (entrance & I'm assuming the other was supposed to be an exit, but yet people went in through that way as an entrance continually), sidewalk area, & when your name gets called FINALLY (by an employee yelling out of the doorway) you have issues getting through the crowd on the sidewalk & in the doorway to even get inside. ●NOT CLEAN AT ALL! Table, seats, floor, walls, bathroom, buffet areas, etc.--all disgusting (& mind you it's newly opened & already this bad) ●$15 per person for buffet which is utterly disgusting. ●some pizzas burnt on bottom but yet undercooked on top (SMH) ●NONE of the pizzas or desserts were good. ●salad bar section had quite a bit nearly empty; everything mixed into the other items compartments, & dressings were mixed (most likely from dripping from spoons while going above the others). ●difficult to find clean plates & silverware to eat off of. ●Soda tasted flat. ■ We had a party of 6 & NOT one of us was content in any way. Most often one person may find something that's displeasing or has some sort of issues but for everyone of us to have this opinion really does say enough. ■ We saw 2 other families trying it out the same time we were & after asking them their opinion on the wait, sanitation, food quality, etc.--we were not at all surprised to hear how dissatisfied & disappointed they all were as well.
Such a shame. I really had high hopes for this place, & was truly waiting for something new to come to Asheboro. It's beginning to feel like people, in general, are becoming so use to long waits, poor service, low grade quality, high prices, ignorance, & having lack of decent alternatives that businesses that should have failed immediately continue to thrive. When will we stop accepting these things & enforce change..? You work too hard for your money to go to...
Read moreUpdated to 5 Star: I’ve been several more times over the past 2 years and I love the salad bar. Pizza is good too, but they fixed the salad bar scoops and it’s much easier to get. People have always been friendly.
Overall I loved it for the food. I loved it back when it was in Asheboro a while back. I’m a big fan of the salad bar. My husband loved the variety of pizza. I want to see this place succeed so I hope they see the things listed I would change:
The salad bar has flat tongs. It made it REALLY difficult to pick things up. They should have scoops for items instead. I observed multiple people trying their hardest to reach the salad items in the middle row without touching their face to the glass. Same for the pizza, instead of a 2nd back row, possibly create a shelf above so you aren’t reaching across another pizza to get to the back. The BIGGER issue is the the girls at the front and our waitress. They didn’t want to sit our family of 8 together during our Father’s Day outing and wanted to try to separate us and I inquired we would be okay to wait in order to all sit together. After the waitress came out she said she decided she was done with her break and could take us. So the hostess felt the need to share this particular waitress had already had large groups today and that’s why they didn’t want to accommodate us. After being seated the waitress then goes on about her last large group didn’t even tip her so she had just needed a moment.
It was the in professionalism that did it for us. It would have been. 2 star but I don’t want to lower the restaurants score when they had such good food. Work on training these girls with customer service and what NOT to say to customers. Not to mention it’s a buffet. They are their to upkeep the drinks for the most part. (I did leave a good tip for...
