I purchased a coffee then proceeded to ask a question to someone standing behind the counter for directions to an atm on a Sunday. He proceeded to tell me thereās a bank but it was a 7 mile walk away. I asked the same question but reframed in another way, hoping Iāll get an answer to an ATM machine. The same man looks me dead in the eye and repeats his answer word for word, as if I donāt hear him the first time. His buddy was standing there watching it go down, I guess the other guy was the boss. Both times the man wanted me to go on a 7 mile hike to a bank, when I just wanted to get quick cash back. One of two things: 1) both male workers standing behind the counter knew nothing about the Asheville area and the coffee shops surroundings. Or 2) They felt the correct answer to the question āwhere is the nearest atmā was a 7 mile walk to the bank from the coffee shop. I found an atm asking the store next door, but know that your employees donāt like answering questions about anything besides coffee maybe. This was about 2 weeks ago and it left a sour taste...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really thought Iād like this place because the reviews are so good, but sadly that was not the case. My friendās latte was spilled over on the saucer, and expecting any kind of latte art was out of the question (see photo). It seemed so carelessly poured, but considering there was only one barista making drinks, we let that go. Strike two was when I received my Americano. I honestly have never had anyone mess that up, but it tasted like 3 burnt shots of espresso. I couldnāt drink it without asking for a cup of hot water to mix it in. Strike three was when my other friend received her iced pour over - watered down and equally disappointing. Iām not sure if it was because there was only one barista or if they went through improper training, but Iād like to revisit to see if it was just this one instance. I will say the space and ambiance was lovely, and the staff was helpful and friendly, which is why Iām giving it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting High Five Coffee and trying their seasonal beverage, the Blackberry Smash. From the first sip, I was hooked. The drink perfectly balances the natural sweetness and tartness of fresh blackberries with a smooth coffee base, creating a refreshing and flavorful experience that is both unique and satisfying.
The presentation was just as impressive, with a vibrant, deep purple hue that made it almost too pretty to drinkāalmost. The combination of flavors was well thought out, with just the right amount of sweetness to complement the rich coffee notes without overpowering them.
It's clear that High Five Coffee puts a lot of thought into their seasonal offerings, and the Blackberry Smash is a testament to their creativity and quality. If you're looking for something new and refreshing, this drink is definitely...
