For a taste of European charm without the transatlantic flight, Old Europe Coffee in Asheville delivers a delightful coffee experience. Stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by the inviting aroma of coffee and freshly baked pastries, setting the stage for a truly pleasant visit. Old Europe Coffee: A Friendly Espresso Escape If your coffee compass consistently points to quality espresso and Americanos, then Old Europe Coffee should be your next stop. Their espresso, a double shot of Dynamite Espresso, is a rich, robust revelation. It's the kind of shot that stands on its own, with a perfect crema and a depth of flavor that speaks to careful sourcing and expert preparation. Read moreThese wonderful beautiful employees and everybody involved in that store deserve a crazy good raise and any business that rolls through Asheville, once it's cleaned up post Hurricane Helene. I was one of 100s that received free food and a FREE chai latte when they handed out food and drink at their store after the horrific devastation of Hurricane Helene. Hardly anybody had cash, and charging a card was impossible without power or wifi, or even cell signal. So they saw a need and fulfilled that need from their ability and resources, taking time out of their day to help so many scared and anxious people who needed some brightness in the middle of terror. These employees were probably also natives of this area, and dealing with their own legitimate, real fears and concerns. Darkness. Distress. A lot of people lost so much. But these guys went above and beyond. Outstanding. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The chai latte was also delicious. Spicy and sweet and creamy, will be returning as soon as they are comfortable opening for another, with cash or card in hand ❤️❤️❤️❤️
**Wanted to add, these guys were truly the VERY first responders. There were absolutely nurses, EMTs, firefighters and tons of people addressing urgent needs. But before most businesses had even blinked post hurricane, before any churches were open or had even taken down the boards from their stained glass windows, before FEMA or the national guard or ANYONE from the outside showed up to help, these guys were already out throwing a line to their drowning neighbors. They were struggling too. True heroes in my eyes. I'm so glad so many are donating and sharing. The world is so beautiful with people like...
Read moreI have never eaten here, as I live in Florida. However, after Hurricane Helene the wonderful owner and employees of Old Europe provided people in need of food, water, and possibly even tea and coffee for FREE! The humanity, compassion, and sense of right doing by the owner and employees of giving up their food, water, but mostly their time is unbelievably amazing. They gave away scarce supplies to the community that could have been used by the employees and their families of Old Europe, but they chose give it to the community during such a dire situation. The admiration I have for these people is beyond words. I found out about this by happening apon a YouTube video posted by The Bergamot called "What Actually Happened in Ashville: A Hurricane Helene Story". You are truly amazing people and I will let as many people as I can know about it. I know that I will make sure to get to your establishment when I get to visit the area. Oddly, I started writing this review before the end of the YouTube video, but just heard at the end that The Bergamot has also requested their viewers to show you the well deserved appreciation you deserve, as well. There aren't many people who are genuinely good people that you find anymore, but I know where some are in Ashville, North Carolina. I live in Bradenton, FL which is just south of Tampa / St. Petersburg and Hurricane Milton is heading right towards Bradenton to hit us on Wednesday, October 9th ..... SMACK ON. I have zero confidence that any restaurant in my community would do what you did. I'm not a hugely religious person, I don't attend church every Sunday, but from the bottom of my heart........
