A Taste of Turkey in the Heart of the City!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Agora Midtown, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that transported me straight to the streets of Istanbul.
Let's start with the food - oh my, what a treat! Cafe Agora Midtown offers an extensive menu of authentic Turkish dishes for both breakfast and dinner. Whether you're a fan of savory or sweet, there's something to satisfy every palate. The breakfast options are a true standout, with a wide variety of delicious pastries, cheeses, olives, and traditional Turkish breakfast spreads. I highly recommend trying the Menemen - a mouthwatering dish made with scrambled eggs, tomatoes, peppers, and spices. It's a breakfast experience like no other!
For dinner, the menu continues to impress. The kebabs are a must-try, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The lamb kebab was particularly tender and flavorful, while the chicken kebab was juicy and succulent. The vegetarian options are equally delightful, with dishes like the Imam Bayildi, a stuffed eggplant that is rich in flavor and melts in your mouth. And of course, no Turkish meal is complete without a cup of strong Turkish coffee or a sip of fragrant Turkish tea - both of which Cafe Agora Midtown serves to perfection.
The service at Cafe Agora Midtown is top-notch. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and answer any questions you may have. They truly make you feel like a valued guest, going above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional.
The ambiance of the restaurant is another highlight. The decor is tastefully done, with a mix of traditional Turkish elements and modern touches. The soft lighting and comfortable seating create a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or a romantic dinner for two.
Overall, Cafe Agora Midtown is a hidden gem in the heart of the city. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is delightful. Whether you're a fan of Turkish cuisine or looking to try something new, this place is an absolute must-visit. I guarantee you'll leave with a satisfied palate and a desire to come back for more. Five stars...

Like many others, we had been anxiously awaiting the re-opening of one of our favorite casual restaurants.
We stopped in for dinner on Friday and upon walking in we were asked if we had reservations. Friends, we did not as we had never needed them before. But, they were kind and were able to accommodate a party of two.
The new atmosphere is definitely more upscale and is nice, if that is what you're looking for. We were expecting it to be zhushed up, but were hoping that it would be more casual.
The food is now all a la carte. We ordered hummus, tabbouleh, and falafel for appetizers and shared the gyro platter, (which we were told that it was recently added to the dinner menu b/c people kept asking for it). The sizes of the appetizers were SO small! There could not have been more than 1/2 cup of tabbouleh and hummus on each plate. For $8 this is crazy! The gyro came with rice and a 1/3 cup of salad, $18.
The small portions of food were a bummer but the real disappointment of the evening was being blinded repeatedly by a very bright light being shone by other diners who were seated in the center of the dining room, obviously taking pictures of their food, drinks, etc. without any regard for others. When I asked our server if she could do anything about it, she said, "sorry those are our influencers and they're being paid to promote our restaurant." That's great, but I'm sorry, I'm paying close to $60 w/tax + tip for my meal?!
I spoke to the manager and he was nice enough about it and said he would talk to the social team about scheduling influencers on a Friday and not seating them in the middle of the restaurant. Past that, there was no other accommodation made.
In all, it was a big let down after waiting so long for them to reopen. It seems as if they didn't understand their market before closing and are trying to create a new one that may or may not exist for them at this...

As someone who’s had VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy, aka “the sleeve”) and is living a high-protein, portion-aware lifestyle, I’m always searching for places where I can enjoy real food that supports my goals—and Agora Mediterranean Grill in Atlanta absolutely delivered.
The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and casual. The staff was kind, helpful, and more than willing to answer questions about ingredients and customizations. I ordered a grilled chicken platter with roasted vegetables and hummus—and I was blown away! Fresh, flavorful, satisfying, and absolutely sleeve-friendly.
I especially appreciated how flexible the menu is—you can skip the starch, double your protein, and explore both vegan and Mediterranean-inspired options without feeling limited. As someone documenting my weight-loss journey, I was excited to feature Agora in my new content series “The Leaner Side of Lena Bites,” which spotlights restaurants that work for post-op and mindful eaters.
This was such a fantastic experience that I’d love to come back and explore more of the menu or even share a behind-the-scenes look for my audience. There’s so much more to highlight—and I think others on a wellness journey would love to discover this gem.
Thank you, Agora, for making dining out joyful again. I’ll absolutely be back!
