The Atlanta Georgia location was HORRIBLE. Wanted to celebrate my birthday with my best friend and end up getting seated an hour and forty minutes later. They ended up changing our seats and basically put us in a very small corner. Water delivered to us with food in my best friends glass, the waiter stated that he would take care of us ended up trying to take care of his tip. His exact words were if we gave him a big tip he would take care of us. I wanted the lights out Birthday song that super hype to come out to my table, he said he would charge me $30.00 for the drink and would get the dancers to come to the table for free again if we took care of him. My best friend and I agreed. We proceed to place our order and they were out of EVERYTHING!!! The waiter tried to get us to order tacos and quesadillas. We drove almost two hours we didn't want tacos. We ordered the "famous macaroni cheese balls" they were thrown yes thrown on our table, cold and tasted horrible!! Oh no silverware on the table took another ten minutes for silverware. We get the drinks mine was ok but my friends was horrible tasted like Robitussin. The waiter was no worries I will take care of it. She never got the drink so she asked to have it removed. Never got a refill on water. Our food took over two hours to come. I ordered the salmon and she got a steak sandwich. The hot cedar board was the only thing that was hot. How is the severing platter hot as heck and the salmon cold and severely over cooked and the steak sandwich was severed on a dirty plate and cold. We had asked for fries with our food and was told they were coming out soon. Who brings the main protein out first and tells you fried are coming. The fries came about fifteen minutes later. At point we had asked for the manager. He came out twenty minutes later. We had a conversation and he did comp the food. The waiter brings us the check and it's $72.00!! He charged us full price for the drinks!! Mine was supposed to be $30.00 and my friend never got hers!!! Manager comes back over we tell him what the waiter had said about the drink. The waiter was saying oh I'm not finished. Sir it's now 2am!! No one ever came to sing happy birthday to me nor did I get the hype birthday lights out Birthday roll call or whatever you want to call it. I ended up paying full price for the birthday drink. The manager gave me a free plastic goblet and a small teddy bear. It may be just the Atlanta location but that staff needs to go. The hostess cursing out customers, a girl celebrating her sweet 16 never got in because they took in walk-ins ( which is why we ended up getting our reservation pushed out) A lady before us had been waiting since 7pm her child fell asleep, some girls from Auburn University sat beside us and had the same experience as we had . I have worked in the food industry and I also do catering and love to cook and my son is a chef so I understand it can get a little challenging but this staff as well as the kitchen staff needs to be replaced and the manager actually did his job the best he could. I told him he may want to rethink remaining at that location because he will be comping food on a regular basis. I rated it one star because I couldn't give anything lower. The only thing great about my birthday was I got to see my best friend but The Sugar Factory wass a ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME, GAS AND THE 50.00 for a drink. The waiter still expected a tip and we did...he did not get the $65.00 bu$10.00 instead because he was promising things he knew he could not do!!!!!! Again the one and only drink we got was $50.00 instead of...

TL/DR version: HARD PASS. I might recommend this spot to someone who I REALLY dislike.

I work in Midtown and walk by this place daily and thought it looked like it could be a cool spot. It looked fun with all the desserts and cocktails in a stereotypical LA over-the-top atmosphere. Today, my co-workers and I checked it out for a scheduled work lunch. As we walked over, I read the reviews and thought to myself that I couldn’t be as bad as people described; I was wrong. My co-worker made the reservations a month ago, but the table for our party wasn’t set up. The staff hastily put together our place to dine and we were seated without much delay. We ordered our drinks while deciding on our entree. I attempted to order a unsweetened tea but told that they were out. I don’t even understand that statement. So I decided to order a Old Fashioned. I guess a little voice was telling me that I was going to need an adult beverage to deal with the upcoming events. Full disclosure, this place is not cheap. I’m assuming that’s why a menu isn’t posted online 🤷🏻‍♂️ I believe a plain Caesar salad was $14, plain spaghetti was also $14, and sandwiches ran around $20. After looking over the menu we made our decisions for our entrees and placed our order. I chose the club sandwich and was informed that they use fresh turkey breast and not deli turkey. Apparently some people take issue with that according to our server. I also elected to sub the fries for fresh green beans based on our servers recommendation. Some of our drinks arrived. Then others. Then about 20 minutes later my Old Fashioned arrived. As you can see in the picture, the drink is unfinished, no cherry garnish and no orange slice. Without these things, the drink is whiskey and bitters, not the classic drink. The waitress let me know they she would get me a orange slice momentarily. Uh, okay? Some of our food arrived. As standard courtesy, my co-workers waited for the rest of us to get our meals. 5 minutes pass and we tell them to go ahead and eat so it doesn’t get cold. Another 5 minutes pass and another person gets their lunch. Another 5 minutes pass and the remaining two meals arrive. One of my co-workers ordered the Asian chicken salad. It looked like something completely different than was shown in the menu. He took two bites and said it wasn’t edible. Just by looking at it, I would agree. The cabbage/lettuce was wilted, some of the ingredients were missing, and the “chicken” looked like old chicken “meat”. The rest of the entrees appeared to be slightly more appetizing. My club sandwich with the turkey breast was okay at best and I’d bet my next paycheck that the turkey was, in fact, deli turkey meat. The “fresh” green beans looked and tasted like they were left over from the day before. see pics for reference My orange slice finally arrived! It made my rye whiskey and bitters cocktail slightly more tolerable. After it was all said and done, only one person finished their meal (spaghetti). Our checks were $38 each (even after the Asian chicken salad was taken off). We were told that they don’t split checks and add an 18% gratuity. Pretty expensive lunch. I worked in the restaurant biz from when I was 17 to 25 and don’t typically complain, but this place is most definitely worth the exception. The best part about the lunch was our servers personality. While she seemed that this might be her first job as a server, she was polite, attempted to be accommodating, and fun. Long story short: we won’t be back, I do not recommend, and I would be astonished if this place was still in business...

The one star is for the entree I ordered & original waiter we had, Darius I believe is his name), other than that, it would be a zero. We were there to celebrate my son's 16th Birthday. I paid the deposit in advance due to the size of the party. They led us to a semi private area upstairs in the back. This would have been fine except there was no air conditioning working in until entire restaurant. Upstairs in the back, the heat and lack of circulation was unbearable.

The waiter however was really good and when I asked if either a fan could be placed in our section or if we could move, he moved us. Unfortunately a new waitress came with the switch. The old waiter is in the pic below with two females smiling. I believe his name is Darius and he was awesome for the short time he had our party. I found him to give him a tip though he wasn't really our waiter any longer. He took great care of our party).

It was downhill from there. I assume it was some level of a manager came over to our section within minutes of us being lived, not to greet us or apologize for the lack of air, but to make a clear distinction that we weren't to use a chair from the empty adjoining table. So very rude. I wish I knew her name, but she was African American, small/petite frame wearing a khaki colored business suit. She was extremely rude.

We were not happy with our new waitress either. Her greeting was so dry that I asked her of it were going to be a problem before we even got started. She provided a fake grin, but I saw through it; she wasn't happy we'd been moved. News flash, I wasn't happy about having no air either. So......needless to say because her tip was already included, she did absolutely nothing to earn it.

There was another waiter who assisted her on bringing our food to the table. His dreads were so long that they could touch the food on the tray. He had on no net. It was gross. (See pic below of male waiter holding a tray of food.)

The food took quite awhile and though my entree (shrimp pasta) was good, one guest was served visibly burnt waffles, another had a bland plant based burger and one's avacado was old or had been sitting out. Instead of the waitress attempting to make it right, she and her manager decided that since other parts of the meal had been eaten, there was nothing that could be done.

I ordered the King Kong Birthday Experience before we were even relocated to the new area. I expressed to the waitress several times that the guests needed to leave (it was after the 2 hour limit) to return to their party bus, yet my son had to wait until 3 other birthday guests had their moments, two of which I know came in after us. It was a $100 waste bc by the time they sang Happy Birthday, the guests had no time left to actually eat the ice cream. It simply stayed on the table.

When it was time to pay the bill, even though I showed the waitress the emailed receipt of thr $200 deposit, she still had to find several managers or whomever to apply the deposit to the final bill. This took an extra 15-20 min. I would not recommend this particular location at all. No air conditioning? Burnt food? Very poor customer service. Completely overpriced....

*see pics for reference* My orange slice finally arrived! Long story short: we won’t be back, I do not recommend, and I would be astonished if this place was still in business in 3 months.
