This is a place I came across while on one of my food delivery runs as part of my work and I thought their billboards outside were quite vibrant and attention-grabbing enough I thought I had to come here for sure as soon as I could. Turns out I was able to come sooner than expected for New Year's Day! I came around 3:33 PM. For a Wednesday there were a few people eating already and ordering plus one Uber Eats person picking up some food for delivery (something I found interesting since that's the work I do). That was fine. Still not that crowded, if a place is too crowded that tends to make me want to leave. You can hardly move around and with too much noise it would be hard to enjoy your food.
Their menu options are incredible so much looked amazing! So I was having a hard time choosing but decided to go with the barbecue bun and crispy seaweed roll paired with the mango bungo bubble tea. The staff that cooks your food seriously brings you your food. And what left me speechlessly impressed was the women who cook there make this food as authentically as possible. It looks and tastes authentic. And it's so delicious! Perfect! Ahhh! and the mango bungo bubble tea is refreshing and you can actually drink it without getting the bubble pearls stuck in your straw each time you sip which happens to me with the bubble teas at Sweet Hut bakery.
I seriously felt embarrassed while I enjoyed my food there because every time I bit into any of the food I could feel like I was glowing. I didn't want to flaunt it in anyone's face. But my mind kept thinking this is perfect, just right. Seriously yummy. And it's funny because they had some sauce there called yum yum sauce at their tables. This place really pushes the standards of a restaurant establishment because not only was the place super clean as other reviewers have said, but the staff were quite pleasant. Bao Bun Cafe is definitely an impressive restaurant and I hope they never change anything from their reasonable pricing to reasonable portions. Not to mention all the sauces they offer which add to the flavors. It's really everything you could want in a Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese, etc...
Read moreVery good Taiwanese food. It reminds me of when I visited Taiwan and realized that Taiwanese food differs from mainland Chinese food. In a good way! It only stands to reason since there are cultural differences between the 2 countries. And Taiwan is an island with a sub-tropical climate. Bao Bun HIbachi offers great Bao Buns served ala carte or as part of a combo. I had a combo with the rice and "broken" pork as my Taiwanese friend called it. The rice and pork was excellent. I definitely wanted more. And I am not a big pork eater. It came with a tea-soaked egg as well that was loaded with good flavor. The service is attentive. And it was very clean throughout the restaurant too. Gaging by the steady stream of traffic I saw while waiting for my food, a lot of other people feel the same way. I highly recommend Bao Bun Hibachi for Taiwanese food. I plan...
Read moreThe food is so good. I ate it so fast that I forgot to take pictures 🤣. I recommend the Tonkotsu Ramen. It has corn, onions, bamboo shoots, seaweed, egg, spiniach and the pork slices which are called "Cha Shu". The broth is amazing. Definetly comfort food. I would just buy the broth in a cup and drink it and be happy.
I also recommend the Beef Scalion Pancake roll which is very much like a burrito. It is very good. The pancake is similar in texture the a crepe. Very nice onion and garlic flavor.
And last but not least I recommend the Beef Bau Bun. Kind of like a taco but with the softest most fluffy bread almost like "arepa" but better. The meat is delicious. I could probably eat 3 of them.
Definetly coming back to try other Ramens and Bau...
