If you can overlook below average service, decorum and eating lamb chops and lobster with plastic utensils (and cups), then this place is cool. The Sunday brunch is a day party vibe with hookah and bottomless mimosas, but it comes with a price. I’ve only been here once and wasn’t all that impressed given it’s just another Black-owned hookah joint if we’re being honest. I didn’t expect much and only came because of a bday celebration and I probably won’t be back. I got the falsely advertised catfish plate- for those unaware, a lot of restaurants are selling fish in the catfish family versus actually catfish. I can certainly tell the different but it was appetizing nonetheless. A few others got lamb chops and the fried lobster. The lamb chops came out burnt vs charred every time. I also had bottomless mimosas which I had to chase the waitress down to get. The food took forever to come out. Even though we had a large party, it made no sense that other large groups who arrived after us, got their food before us. Also please be aware that after 3pm you’ll have to pay to get in which is crazy. “Valet” is also $20-40 and they may or may not park your car. You may have to do it yourself which defeats the whole point of “valet” parking. Might I also add, my friend was told to move her car after paying valet and taking her with her. They threatened to boot her and claimed she didn’t pay because she didn’t give them the key- and why would she given she had to park her own car. But again, this is a cool spot if you’re in for the typical Atlanta hookah lounge vibe.

A friend was celebrating her birthday there. It is advertised that there are free valet, free admission for ladies, free crab legs and martinis until 8 pm. Well, the valet space allows for about 10-12 cars. There is self-parking across the street for $5 and street parking for free (be careful, some are permitted for the neighborhood). A lady in our group car was also broken into while she was in the establishment (street parking). The servers don't mention the specials at all. They simply give you a regular menu and promote a new cocktail that the owner is distributing in local liquor stores. We barely saw our servers to ask questions until 7:55 (I'm sure that is by design). When they arrived back at the table and we inquired about the advertising the response was, "Oh, you should have mentioned them. It has ended already." So for all the people the frequented the establishment that didn't know about the specials did not have the options presented to them. And customers are supposed to know the specials? That's ridiculous! A few people in our group mentioned it to the lead server and she said, "I'm/We are going to do better."

*THEY ONLY DO 1 CHECK PER TABLE* Went for brunch as part of a large birthday group. And what a disappointing experience. Our server was pleasant and very helpful. The music provided a nice ambiance. The bar has swings as seats instead of the traditional barstool. Thus 2 stars. Everything else deducted the other 3 stars. It is hard to find self parking. Valet was $20 for me and $40 for those that arrived a little later than I did. The valet only accepts cash or cashapp. We did not receive our food until 1.5 hours after our reservation time. Our server kept apologizing and saying the kitchen was backed up. They brought the food out as it was ready and not as a group (which is understandable due to our party size). However after being there 2.5 hours, some people still hadn't received their food and ended up leaving. I got the chicken & red velvet waffle. The waffle was very mushy. The chicken was not seasoned other than what was in the batter they used to fry it. Since our party was large, we took up multiple tables which split the checks somewhat but there was still had at least 6 people per check to figure out the logistics.

This was my 3rd time at Boogalou and unfortunately my last. I had a party of 5, we were celebrating a birthday. We arrived for Sunday brunch at 1. We paid and were seated around 1:45. The buffet was $31.50 including tax and 18% gratuity. It is not disclosed anywhere that you cannot order from the menu until after brunch is over, which is at 3:30 on Sunday. So if you do not want the buffet, do not come during brunch hours. The food was in no way, shape, form, or fashion worth that price tag. The fried chicken wings, ribs, and mashed sweet potatoes were the only things that were decent, everything else was simply not good. The website advertises $15 bottomless mimosas per person on Sunday's, we were charged $30 per person for bottomless mimosas... Shortly after 3, a woman came to our table picking up plates and advising us with an attitude that we had 5 more minutes and then we would have to get up because they needed to seat more guest. Understandable, but a time limit is also not disclosed on the website or anywhere. Immediately after she walked away she sent a security guard over to the table to have us leave. When asked, the guard said she did not give him a reason other than we needed to leave, this was immediately after she left, not 5 minutes later as she stated. We still had full drinks on the table and the server had not even returned with our cards from cashing out the drink orders. Never mind the $30 subpar buffet food, $30 mimosas that were advertised as $15, $10 for valet parking, and not enough time to eat due to only 2 staff persons manning the buffet line(30 to 45 minutes to get through the line), that can almost be excused for a future visit, but poor customer service will cost you to lose business permanently. Calling the guard to our table when there was no refusal to leave or other issues is completely unacceptable, unnecessary and unprofessional. That is the reason we will not be back. I'm disappointed because I prefer to patron and support black owned businesses but I do expect the same level of professionalism as other establishments. The lady who told us to leave in 5 minutes did not care to giver her name but boasted that her brother owned the club so I hope her brother gets to read this review and make improvements. After exiting, we were waiting on our cars and another table of people came out complaining about the same woman, being asked to leave with a security escort. I wish I could give a separate set of stars for our server, Shannon S. She was great, nice personality and very attentive. If you visit,...

I’ve been going to Boogalou since they very first opened their doors and I’m a regular customer. However the customer service I received yesterday was the WORST I had ever received in my Entire Life! I got to Boogalou around 3:50 PM as they were still on brunch . I proceeded to ask the host and Nyla(manager) name given from waiter(Nellie) if I could be put on the waiting list for a party of 3. The host took my name down and said it would be a wait in which I was completely fine with. As we were waiting at the time (1 hour in a half ) I walked up to the manager and asked her if we buy a bottle could we sit faster she stated yes it’s 400 . While I’m paying for the bottle she asked which kind . I stated what I drink and she informed me it would be 500 now. I declined and told her I would just wait for my name to be called because it wouldn’t be much longer .20 minutes later Nyla (Manger ) sits us at our table(5:40 PM) after waiting for an additional 10-15 minutes our waiter comes to assist us. We just decided to order everything at once . Food , drinks , and hookah . The waiter informed us they were now on the Late snack night menu and they were only serving fried foods. I asked when will the dinner menu be Available she said she would let me know . 2 people in the party ordered their food at that time . Our drinks, hookah and the food that was ordered finally came time now (6:30PM). Waiter comes to the table and inform us we need to move because someone bought the table and would be in at 7 ! Right completely lost ! I asked if Nyla could speak with us she said sure . Nyla finally comes over at ( 6:45pm ). I asked could we sit somewhere else because we weren’t informed a party bought the table when we were seated Nyla (manager ) claps her hands and rolled her eyes Loudly and stated “GIRLLLLLL NO all these tables are bought and y’all need to get UP ,I was being nice to y’all”. I was in total disbelief this was the way a Manager was talking to a CUSTOMER! Especially being in the wrong . I said nothing else after she put on a show while others were looking . We paid our tab and left . Im Beyond disgusted with the way we were treated . We have to do better with our customer service . We as in black businesses. You never know who knows who and how long someone has been supporting your business . I’ve been going to Boogalou 9+years I’m highly...

Where to start! Club experience was fun with our friends after leaving the Beyoncé concert. The issue that made my overall experience an 0 and will not come again is due to the valet. As soon as we pull in we did valet, which was $40. I gave Saimen (nice guy )my keys , the $40 , then he handed me the ticket. After having such a good time with our friends we all headed to the valet to get my vehicle. I handed the guy my ticket, which his demeanor was weird . He didn’t say ok hold on let me get your vehicle, he just put my ticket on the box. Something just didn’t seem right to me at all at this point . I still waited to the side , I saw the guy who I gave my key to and thought parked my vehicle . Which had a hand full of keys and were giving customers their keys . Yet about 20 mins later my vehicle was not driven to me or keys in my hand. We heard another guys upset that he car was damaged as he was waiting to get his key from valet . Then I started to feel a panic feeling like ok where is my vehicle and Is it damaged? I then walk to Saimen to ask where is my vehicle , why haven’t y’all giving my keys . Then I located my vehicle which I said ok just give me the keys . For him to say you have your keys , To I can’t find your key! He said he didn’t park the vehicle and the person who did is gone . He is now on the phone with his boss , asking if I have a spare key which is not at all close due to being out of State. Then they was saying I can leave my vehicle , come at 9am where they will make me a new key ! Which I was not leaving my vehicle for it to be taken. After an hour later , cops being called , me speaking with my rode assistant, friend bust into the club to get some answers. My key was then found(key was pushed in the back of box). REFUND ME! Was told their boss doesn’t give refunds , just to give my key back and leave . Which we was not going to let that happened, everyone in my group was getting upset, the security was talking about refunding me , to the guy just cash app me. Told to come back the next day from brunch we will take care of you and apologize. Overall no one was trying to help the head of security was telling me if it get stolen file claim on my insurance. They will pay it out What! Be careful with valet , I never had this...
