This hotel is a mixed bagâbut depending on your priorities, it could be a great deal.
First, the good stuff: The room itself was cute, clean, and stylish. Check-in was fast and easy, and the front desk guy was super helpful and friendly. He gave me great local recommendations for food and still gave a respectful plug for the hotelâs restaurant (as he should).
But the bathroom? Tiny. I had read other reviews, but wowâthey werenât kidding. Itâs about the size of a cruise ship bathroom. When youâre sitting on the toilet, youâre basically leaning into the sink. That said, the shower was surprisingly niceâplenty big even for someone my size (Iâm 6â4â, 250 lbs). And the products they use smell amazing and work well.
Roughest part? The towels. Literally. The body towels were super coarseânot a dealbreaker, just odd compared to the rest of the experience.
Now the major issue: noise. This was the real problem. The walls are incredibly thin. I could hear my neighborâs entire phone callâeven though I donât speak the languageâand every single door slam sounded like it was happening in my own room. I was woken up several times during the night, and in the morning, I legit thought someone was banging on my door. Add in street noise from cars racing by and the sound of dumpsters being emptied outside, and it was a noisy night. If youâre a light sleeper, this could absolutely ruin your stay.
Iâll be attaching a video with this review that shows my roomâbut more importantly, lets you hear just how loud things really are. Itâs not exaggerated.
Alsoâparking is ridiculous. $50/night to park in their garage. I found a garage across the street for $36 and walked over. Thereâs no real street parking option because everything is limited to 4 hours.
Final take: If youâre budget-conscious, a heavy sleeper, and donât need a spacious bathroom, this is a decent value in a great location. Iâd probably stay here again just because Iâm cheap enough to overlook the noise if it saves me money. But if you need peace and quiet or space to stretch out, youâll want to look elsewhere. And if you ignore this review and still book it, donât say you...
Read moreMy family and I checked out of this hotel early this morning and was hit later in the day with a $580 smoking fee. I was with my young children and husband, none of which smoke, so you can understand the shock and frustration when I saw the charge. After reading other reviews, unfortunately I see that Iâm not the 1st, 2nd or 5th hotel guest this âscamâ has happened to at Hotel Indigo Atlanta Midtown. I called and tried to dispute with the hotel and they said the smoke indicator went off and laughed at me. We stayed there the entire weekend for a cheer competition. 90% of the time we were at the competition. While in the extremely tiny, unventilated room, we had Blow dryers and steamy showers on. The Extremely poor ventilation, peeling moldy ceiling, bathroom that was the size of an airplane bathroom was so uncomfortable for our family. Not to mention a very old historic building that smelled already. Poor ventilation, old building smells, molding bathroom ceilings and the ability to side scam guests when they know there is no real way to prove there was smoking done in the room is outrageous. I will never stay at an IHG Hotel again. Considering the manger says the indicators can have faulty false readings to other reviewers tells me this is a total money grab for IHG. That said, prepare yourself when you book, you might be the lucky winner of the âalleged smoking fee lotteryâ and will be screwed out of $580 due to past people who may or may not have smoked in this establishment. I have called IHG headquarters, left a complaint and was told by my credit card to report to the federal trade commission due to numerous other guests who have had this scam ran on them. I will also be putting a fraudulent claim in due to not have full proof of smoking. The device is either faulty or rigged. To someone who does not smoke, this is infuriating. Find another Hotel with a bathroom that doesnât feel like a Porto potty, and a room big enough for a family of 4, This is definitely not the place. I actually question if they even have smoke...
Read moreMy reservation included breakfast. Upon ordering breakfast, I advised the waitress that breakfast was included in my reservation and specifically asked her how this works when looking at the menu. The only thing she advised me was that I needed to write my room number on the ticket. Nothing more. My daughter and I had breakfast, and upon check out I was told that my reservation did not include breakfast. The assistant general manager, Michael was the one who checked me out. I told him my reservation did indeed include breakfast and had him double check and he confirmed it was. He provided me a receipt which only showed a $40 credit for breakfast when the breakfast bill was a little over $100.. To my shock, I asked him why the credit was only $40 and he proceeded to tell me that breakfast only includes one entrĂ©e and one drink per person. I advised him nowhere on my confirmation email did it inform me of this and furthermore the waitress in the restaurant when I specifically asked her how the breakfast works when itâs included in my reservation, did not mention this either. Our order only consisted of an omelette, a waffle, sausage, and bacon and drinks.I asked Michael to credit the full breakfast amount in this case and he refused. He advised that I speak with the general manager, Gabrielle. I called and left her a message and she never returned my call. I called the hotel multiple times, requesting to speak with her and kept getting the runaround and lied to that she was not there when in fact she was because at one point, she picked up the phone and hung up. Very unprofessional behavior and very misleading information. I have reached out to IHG and I am currently awaiting contact...
